As we enter 2024, SciTec looks forward to continuing to deliver innovative capabilities quickly into operations via streamlined acquisition processes provided by Other Transaction Authority (OTA) contacting. We applaud the DOD's continued use of these authorities and OTA Consortia such as NSTXL (National Security Technology Accelerator), ATI | Advanced Technology International, and SOSSEC Inc. to drive innovation. Consortia-led OTA's provide streamlined contracting processes for small businesses and new commercial entrants to compete for major programs by demonstrating success on prototypes. SciTec's David Simenc was quoted in the George Mason University – Costello College of Business study The Power of Many: Leveraging Consortia to Promote Innovation, Expand the Defense Industrial Base, and Accelerate Acquisition: "Consortia is a real enabler for a nontraditional defense contractor to break into the defense industrial base. The government can test an NDC through a competitive prototyping solicitation and if the effort is a success can transition the prototype to production.” https://lnkd.in/eQ5MHRat SciTec is delivering on this acquisition model in our work for the US Space Force's FORGE program.
