Over the past two weeks I have made a couple of accomplishments in terms of expanding my knowledge on different tools and how to properly use them. For one, I completed a NICE Challenge lab that tasked me to disable iptables and switch the network over to use nftables. This was requested because nftables is easier to use and combines all tools of the IPtables framework in a single tool. I also got the chance to filter traffic through the nftables using the ruleset we already had in iptables. In addition to this NICE Challenge lab, I also completed another module of the NCL Competition. The module was on scanning and reconnaissance, and within the sections I got more hands-on experience scanning a website with the tools nmap and net-stat. This was very exciting to me because I know how powerful a scanning tool can be once the user master's how to properly use these tools. #learningeveryday #professionaldevelopment

Completed another room called Nmap on #TryHackMe. Nmap is short for Network Mapper. #Nmap is a network scanner created by Gordon Lyon, which is used to discover hosts and services on a computer network by sending packets and analyzing the responses.
