It's been an exhilarating journey filled with mostly highs—work here is dynamic, exactly how it should be. Adapting to the night shift to serve our US clients has been transformative, not only for my career but also for the lives of those we touch.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked alongside such talented individuals over the past year, gaining invaluable knowledge every step of the way. Immense gratitude goes to my manager, Kripali Suri, whose guidance has shaped the professional I am today. I'm also grateful to Ashish Verma, who is not just our CEO but a mentor and a friend who inspires me to embrace challenges and strive for greatness, always tells me to be the Alpha and cross horizons
Here are key insights from my experience:
- Being an Account Manager at a startup is challenging but rewarding. Patience, determination, and confidence are essential, especially when dealing with SMBs and US clients.
- In-depth product knowledge is crucial for managing over 200 accounts— Its all about educating them the right way, understanding their pain points and driving solutions for it.
- Building strong relationships is foundational, building relationship is always the base, trust flows with, it's not always about immediate results but about trust. And then you move ahead with customer success and customer retention.
- Regular communication helps to keep a health check and for you to also perceive uncertainty effectively
- Recognising signs of client dissatisfaction is key; maintaining regular contact ensures they feel valued and see the benefits of their investment.
- Challenges and tough clients are inevitable, but solutions are always within reach. Open dialogue resolves most issues. Just listen to their concerns, let them talk.
- Stay positive and motivated, even when targets aren’t met. Explore alternative strategies to achieve goals.
- Teamwork is vital—rely on and support each other. "Team works makes the dream work!"
- Mentor juniors, treat everyone with kindness, and always prioritise your mental and physical health to stay productive. Never push yourself when not in good health.
