The more offensive power and technology and human defense against it, the more progress is made, it is hoped that the real human values will be more visible. Once upon a time, hundreds of thousands of dollars were spent on a remote military target, today it is operated with a cheap drone and destroyed with a laser for a few tens of pounds. It seems that the only constant value of this equation is an intelligent human.

Defense technology firm Anduril announced Thursday that it has developed a new line of air-breathing, software-defined, autonomous cruise missiles — one of which is the company’s offering for the Air Force’s ongoing Enterprise Test Vehicle program. The Barracuda family of weapons leverage a modular design that enables the missiles to be mass-produced at low cost and high volume in order to meet the Defense Department’s growing demand for munitions. Each of the three variants — Barracuda-100, Barracuda-250 and Barracuda-500 — vary in size, range and payload capacity, but all of the systems can be fitted with additional capabilities to support a range of missions and launch mechanisms, according to the company. https://lnkd.in/e6DvS24G
