As we celebrate National Nurses Week, here are eight pieces of advice I would like to share with new nurses – advice I wish someone had told me: 1. Master the Moment: Recognize life's fragility. Make the most of every day by being fully present and engaged, especially when caring for others. 2. Cultivate Connections: Build strong relationships early. These friendships will support and enrich your life. 3. Respect the Narratives: Listen to and respect everyone's unique stories. They offer diverse insights and wisdom. This is the key to understanding the world. 4. Unite Through Diversity: Different ideas and viewpoints can lead to smarter ways to get things done and unbreakable bonds. 5. Practice Empathy: Try to feel what others feel. Empathy helps you connect, heal, and transform others' lives. 6. Choose the Greater Good: Aim for decisions that benefit more than yourself. Leading with a selfless perspective will guide you to more fulfilling outcomes. 7. Conquer with Cohesion: Collective efforts yield far greater successes and learning opportunities than going at it alone. 8. Establish Trust: Trust is like gold, so always tell the truth. Earn, keep, and use it wisely to build strong and reliable relationships with everyone around you. Each of us has the opportunity to lead, heal, and inspire, not just within the walls of hospitals but within our communities at large. To all my nurses, thank you for your unwavering commitment and passion. May we continue to find strength and inspiration in our shared experiences and collective wisdom. Happy Nurses Week! P.S. Thank you to Mary Matelan, PA-C and Rachel Lise Ciota, who always made work feel like a sitcom. Miss you guys! #NursesWeek #Motivation #Careers #Nurses #Entrepreneurship

It doesn't have to be white to be right! What turned us to liabilities as a people is that we refuse to accept responsibilities. until we accept responsibility as a people,we will remain liabilities. Our fathers became scientists as they found out the foods that is edible and those that are poisonous They found out how to build houses to ensure shelter for themselves and their families. They accepted responsibility then they enjoyed creativity. Necessity should be the mother of invention but for us it is the mother of frustration They ate and lived before the white men came in. Canaanland has the best architectural masterpiece in terms of steel. So much that even churches in America are coming to learn. Strive for excellence so much that even strangers will come to learn from you. Let your light so shine before men that they see you and glorify your Father in Heaven. It doesn't have to be white to be right!!!! -Bishop Olaniyi Oyedepo Do you agree with this? Nurse Educator | Leader | Professional Development Specialist | An empowered nurse who strives to empower fellow nurses through continuing education and professional development.
In today's world, where the concept of "instant" often overshadows the journey, I've learned the invaluable importance of patience and taking small steps towards achieving our goals. My journey from a humble beginning as a nurse in the province of Bohol to now being in a leadership role here in the US has taught me three vital lessons that I carry with me every day. 1️⃣ Progress is a process. Every step, no matter how small, is a move towards your goal. It was the tiny, consistent efforts that transformed me from a novice nurse into a leader in nursing education. 2️⃣ Patience builds character. The road to success is paved with challenges, and it's our patience during these times that builds the resilience necessary to overcome them. My journey was no exception, filled with moments that tested my resolve and patience, ultimately shaping me into the leader I am today. 3️⃣ Celebrate every milestone. In a world obsessed with the end result, we often forget to acknowledge the small victories along the way. Each accomplishment, no matter its size, is a testament to our dedication and hard work. Celebrating these moments has not only kept me motivated but has also reminded me of how far I've come from my early days. To my fellow professionals, remember that greatness takes time. Let's embrace the journey, cherish the small steps, and keep moving forward with patience and determination. #TransformationTuesday #PersonalDevelopment #EmpoweredNurseMentor #NursingLeadership #NursesOnLinkedin

May 12, recognising and celebrating International Nurses Day. This years theme - The economic power of care. I invite you to review the International Nurses Day Report focusing on the economic power of care. https://lnkd.in/gMqpUrXt ‘Each year, poor health reduces global GDP by 15% (Remes, et al., 2020). As countries strive to rebuild and strengthen their health care systems and economies, strategic investment in nursing emerges as a pivotal pathway to achieving sustained growth and resilience. This International Nurses Day report (IND) reveals the economic power of nursing, presenting an in-depth analysis of how elevating the nursing profession can catalyse transformative improvements in health care delivery, economic development, peace and societal well-being.’

How to Win the Heart of a Nurse It's my favorite time of the year! With World Nurses Day from May 6-12, I'm filled with excitement and appreciation for all the hard work nurses do. Here's a list of things you can do to show your gratitude and perhaps even win the heart of a nurse: - **Take a Nurse Out**: Treat them to a nice dinner or a fun outing. A simple gesture like this can make a big difference. - **Offer a Learning Opportunity**: Consider purchasing a course or workshop to help them advance in their career or explore new interests. - **Book a Pedicure**: A relaxing pedicure or spa treatment can be a great way to help them unwind. - **Give Thoughtful Gifts**: Consider gifting something that aligns with their interests, whether it's a book, a piece of jewelry, or a personalized item. - **For Nurses on Their Day Off**: Use this time to treat yourself. Enjoy a day of self-care, pamper your skin, and do something that brings you joy. As you celebrate this special week, don't forget to tag a nurse you know and wish them a Happy Nurses Week. Thank them for their dedication and hard work, and let them know how much they are appreciated!

ECFMG Certified | AAMC ID : 16408080 | Resident Medical Officer at Zydus Hospital, Ahmedabad | Match Applicant - 2025
It can be quite overwhelming visiting a new country for USCE. No matter what you would have thought of back home, the little changes add up fast, and they do take a toll. Some things to do which can ease the process, so that you can actually focus on your rotations. 1) Make a schedule, and try to follow it as much as possible. Similar to what you would be following at home. 2) Try to inculcate some form of activity. A little walk around the block or visit the gym according to your stay availability. 3) Reach out to as many people as possible. Stay in touch with your friends and family. I know the time difference can be an issue, but drop them a message, no matter the time. 4) Focus on the bigger goal. Appreciate how far you have come. You are finally visiting the hospital where you have dreamed of practicing. You have worked hard for your exams and be proud of how far you have reached. 5) Make new friends, other students, residents at the hospital, nurses. Talk to everyone and be nice.
