We're excited to announce that MUBI has acquired the rights for the 4K restoration of Tarsem's 2006 cult classic THE FALL for the US, Canada, Latin America, the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Benelux, Turkey and India. THE FALL will stream exclusively on MUBI in these territories from 27 September, following its premiere at this year's edition of Locarno Film Festival.
This really depends on your goals. Is your goal to connect with community and build audiences or to meet with agents and seek representation? You have to think about these.
When you work on your film festival strategy, start with this tier of festivals. Look out for the “When” because that determines your premiere status. Then you want to look into niche film festivals like the Cascade Festival for African Films or the American Black Film Festival. Once these festivals respond look into your local film festivals. Also, set aside a budget for traveling.

3 LESSER-KNOWN #FACTS ABOUT THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL
👉It Was Originally Created to Counter Fascism: The Cannes Film Festival was founded in 1939 as a response to the Venice Film Festival, which had become heavily influenced by fascist regimes in Europe at the time. The inaugural event, however, was interrupted by the #outbreak of World War II and didn't fully launch until 1946.
👉The Palme d'Or Didn't Exist Until 1955: While the Cannes Film Festival is now synonymous with the prestigious Palme d'Or, the award wasn’t introduced until 1955. Before that, films were awarded the “Grand Prix du Festival International du Film.” The design of the Palme d’Or, a golden palm leaf, was #inspired by the coat of arms of the city of Cannes.
👉Scandals Have Played a Big Role in Its History: Over the years, Cannes has been no stranger to controversy. From protests to film withdrawals, one of the most notable moments was in 1968, when the festival was canceled midway due to widespread protests in #France, including filmmakers such as Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut, who disrupted screenings in solidarity with the May '68 movement.

This past weekend, Michael and I premiered our 9th film and I performed live for the first time in five years. It required:
1 - Hiring a babysitter for more hours than we could comfortably afford.
2 - Pumping after the kids went to bed and brainstorming ways to get my child to drink milk not directly from me.
3 - Commuting between rehearsals, screenings, performances, and home to nurse, hand off the kids, and spend quality time with them.
4 - Handling a sick child who couldn’t attend school and soothing a baby awake for two hours at night due to my accidental throat-clearing.
On Sunday, we did not rest. It’s not an option with two small kids.
The weekend was hectic but rewarding, and I am grateful for the experience, but Monday brought some much-needed relief.
I don't share this to gain sympathy or compete in the exhaustion Olympics– "Oh yeah, you only got 4 hours of sleep? Well, I only got -0.37!"
And yes, having children and pursuing my career are my choices.
But when I hear stereotypes like "Millennials are lazy and just don’t want to work," I question what the standard definition of "work" really is.
Is it measured by a LinkedIn profile, frequent title changes, or hours logged in an office? Or by the income and possessions, it allows one to accumulate?
If that's the case, then maybe I am lazy. Maybe I don’t want to “work”. Why would I?
Curious: How do you define or redefine work 👇🏽?

(Barely managing, TBH 🤣).
