During my years at Levi Strauss & Co., we always viewed Gap as a worthy competitor. As fashion and target market trends shifted, so did GAP's fortunes, not always in the right direction. I'm really impressed with their new brand campaign. It marks a strategic shift aimed at revitalising the brand's cultural relevance and hopefully its financial performance. It seems that under the leadership of new company CEO Richard Dickson, who brought about a renaissance in the Barbie brand, and Global Brand CEO Mark Breitbard, the company is embracing emotional storytelling to recapture its original essence as a pop culture icon. The campaign, featuring super talented South African artist Tyla and British group Jungle, evokes nostalgia while also appealing to contemporary sensibilities. And the product styling simply rocks! By going digital-first on YouTube, they are targeting a new generation of digisavvy consumers who resonate with the music, dance and fashion styling. I really applaud their brand focus on relevance. It reflects a commitment to engage in authentic cultural conversations. Granted it is early days, but this significant brand evolution signifies a promising new chapter for GAP. The new campaign underscores a broader trend towards a resurgence of creativity in advertising. Amidst industry 'mediocrity' and over reliance on tech / AI advancements, the return to compelling storytelling and beautiful visuals is such a refreshing change. It reminds me of the game-changing Levi's® advertising created by Sir John Hegarty and his team at BBH London in the 80s. Overall, this new campaign represents not only a nod to GAPs storied past, but it feels fresh, simple and relevant. It is consumer centric and oozes energy in both brand messaging and stunning product styling. Well played Gap. #storytelling #brandevolution #consumercentric #relevance

Street-style is a canvas for self-expression, a way to push boundaries and showcase individuality through clothing. But coming from a completely different background, I recently embarked on a journey to understand the street-style, specifically skateboarding brands and what intrigued me is "a vibrant tapestry of self-expression woven through clothing choices". Here is more: - Skateboarding brands don't just sell clothes; they cultivate a community. - Unlike traditional fashion, the value in street style isn't driven by trends or logos. - Their apparel and accessories are a language of community, authenticity, and shared experience. - It's all about the story behind the brand and the connection it fosters with its audience. - These brands understand their audience and evolve with their community. This journey has just begun, and I'm eager to continue learning from the passionate individuals within this world. Let's keep the conversation going in the comments below! #streetwear #skateboarding #fashion #culture #community #communication #selfexpression

So, we're going on a street skate tomorrow! Have you got yourself a skate strap yet? It's a good idea to have a few options to choose from when travelling with your skates. Sometimes, a big skate bag is perfect. Other times, a skate strap is great, coz once you remove it, you can skate with a small bag - or no bag at all! This means you can travel light. To travel light means to be free! Nothing pulling me down on one shoulder. Nothing swinging loose as I skate, yet I'm still able to have a few essentials at hand (like a small water bottle, skate strap, pair of slippers, T tool, and debit card! A skate strap makes that possible. Caution: Beware using a skate strap with dusty/oily wheels (especially when wearing a clean white t-shirt)! Clean your wheels, folks! 😅 Who likes using a skate strap ... and why? Do you recommend one brand in particular? #streetskaters #beginnerskaters #learningtoskate #howto #skatestraps #skategear #skatebaselondon
