A Rotary Community Corps (RCC) is a group of non-Rotarians who share our commitment to changing the world through service projects. Check out video below... RCC members plan and carry out projects in their communities in collaboration with local Rotary clubs. Sponsored by a Rotary club, an RCC leverages Rotary’s network, brand, and mentorship by partnering with clubs to plan and implement service projects. RCCs increase Rotary’s impact and expand its reach by bringing the knowledge and talents of local people to strengthen their community through sustainable projects. There are more than 12,000 corps in 105 countries and 257 Rotary districts. RCCs are active everywhere Rotary is present: in urban and rural areas, and in both developed and developing countries. Program Goals: Promote sustainable solutions to community needs Support community members in addressing community needs while recognizing their unique ability to identify pressing concerns and appropriate solutions Develop partnerships between Rotarians and non-Rotarians in a joint effort to strengthen the community How do I form an RCC as a community volunteer? You can form an RCC anywhere community members are interested in working with Rotary. Here are some guidelines: -Work with other local residents to identify the community’s greatest needs using this assessment form. -Work with a local Rotary club to outline how you will work together. -Recruit RCC members. Start with a core group of members. Community organizations and nongovernmental agencies are good places to recruit. Questions or need support? What comes to mind when you think of The Hague? For many it is synonymous with international justice. It's where war criminals are sent to answer for their crimes. But what you might not know is that it is also the centre of a growing ecosystem of charities, NGOs and humanitarian groups who are striving for a better world. Last month I went to The Hague to speak to a number of international organisations about the work they do in the city. But this first article is about the city itself, and how it became renowned for peace, as well as justice. With thanks to Rob Schuurmans and Graziella Guarguaglini. #TheHague #InternationalCityofPeaceandJustice

We're thrilled to share a series of bilingual videos that delve into an innovative approach for community development called #Monetization— the practice of leveraging annual cashflows into long-term debt to build key infrastructure for communities. In this video, we amplify the voices of Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek, ON as they share their vision for a vibrant community. Their need is clear: a band office, a school and an Elders’ complex to welcome community members back home. With significant upgrades to their local sawmill, they're now able to utilize community-sourced lumber to build much-needed infrastructure. However, the path to progress can be accelerated by utilizing Monetization, which we believe can be a game-changer for Indigenous communities across Canada. FNFA is advocating for the adoption of this model to #ClosetheInfrastructureGap between First Nations communities and the rest of Canada. 🛠️ Imagine the impact if Monetization were piloted across Canada. First Nations communities could achieve critical infrastructure goals more efficiently, fostering growth and stability for future generations. 🎥▶️https://lnkd.in/gueGU6Pi

I am excited to announce that the Perth-wide service project working with Uniting WA providing essentials to those experiencing homelessness has been published in national news website Horizons, on YouTube, and on Baha'i Blog! ⭐ https://lnkd.in/gQ-FJ5k6 ⭐ https://lnkd.in/gArqBPQR ⭐ https://lnkd.in/gX7zgM7E Sonia Raisi and I teamed up to initially organize a collaboration service project between the ECU and UWA Baha'i Societies, but as we learned more about Uniting WA's need for large-scale donations, we decided to take on the challenge of transforming it into a Perth-wide event. We had never organized an initiative of this scale before, so we wanted to share some of our learning! 1. Take time to learn from the professionals. It is imperative with any project to maintain honesty in what can be accomplished with your capabilities alone, and when to seek wisdom from other professionals. Recognizing that we had little education on what it is like to be experiencing homelessness in Perth, we decided to reach out to Rhys Powell from Uniting WA, since Uniting WA is the leading nonprofit in Western Australia for tackling this challenge. Our Zoom meeting with him allowed us to refine our vision and task breakdown to maximize the effect we could have on our local community. 2. Diversify advertising, but invest the most time on one-on-one invitations because they are harder to miss and more enticing to accept. We let others know about the event through the ECU and UWA Baha'i Society Instagrams, youth group chats, junior youth group leaders, emails sent by local institutions, and one-on-one messages between friends and acquaintances. By far, the most effective form of communication that influenced others to participate was the final one. 3. Be clear in communicating the level of inclusivity of the event. We strongly encouraged all the junior youth groups in Perth to participate in the project by collecting from their local neighbourhoods. However, many of the older generations misunderstood this encouragement to mean that the event was only for youth and junior youth. Thus, they thought that they could not participate, even though this was an all-inclusive event. Some more details: ✨ We had 150-200 donors total ✨ By the end of the event, we had received so many donations that the stage was overflowing! ✨ About 70 people attended the event ✨ The program consisted of a presentation from Rhys, refreshments, and a social portion If you want to get involved in our next service project, feel free to send me a message! The UWA and ECU Baha'i Societies are committed to organizing events that are focused on including as many individuals as possible with the goal of eliminating apathy towards social issues and nurturing a sense of united protagonism throughout Perth.

Could you spare $20 to donate to a great cause? In September, I will be trekking the Santiago de Compostela to raise funds to build a Youth Foyer in Dubbo, which will serve regional NSW. The Youth Foyer will provide 40 units for young people between the ages of 16 to 24. Foyers offer critical, point-in-time services that enable young people in transition to develop and achieve educational and employment pathways, helping them to exit the cycle of welfare and service dependence sustainably. While there are programs in both the education and homelessness sectors across Australia that support young people experiencing disadvantage, fully integrated service models focused on education and employment outcomes are scarce. Foyers aim to: - Reduce the number of young people cycling through the housing and homelessness system. - Increase the number of young people completing educational qualifications. - Increase the number of young people productively employed. You can help make a difference by donating today. https://lnkd.in/gq5rf-gN

Western holds a special place in the hearts of many, and this sentiment is passed down through generations. The Mountaineer spirit leaves a lasting impression on those who experience it, and those who are familiar with Gunnison and Western are aware of the strong sense of community that exists here. With the help of our alumni and donors, we are working hard to make Western an even better place. Learn more about how we are elevating Western: https://lnkd.in/gPqTbQXr #ElevateWestern #WCUAlumni

Is this the best customer experience in Australia? As someone who spends their days looking at how a company connects with customers through the brand, marketing, comms and experiences, it takes a pretty amazing experience to blow me away. One organisation that I think is the absolute 'best of the best' is www.lifeblood.com.au. The team at the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood team do three things amazingly well: their brand is single minded in its purpose and value proposition; the experience of registering and donating blood is so easy; their comms are second to none - right down to letting you know where your blood donation is going. Tick. Tick. Tick. Above all this, the work they do is so important. As someone who has had family members rely on donations (I need to make about 30 to square the ledger... 27 to go), anyone who can should really consider giving blood. Do it for the warm and fuzzies, do it to help someone else... and brand nerds should do it because you will see what I mean about amazing customer experience from end-to-end. Well done Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. I love your work on a whole bunch of levels. See you in a few weeks for the next donation. 👍

https://lnkd.in/gBwPNnQ9 Incredible speech by Pierre Poilievre. He is for Canadians, he is for Canada. His promises and policies are exactly what Canadians and Canada needs now, yesterday to return the middle-class into living once again and in turn raising the poor out of poverty. No more listening to promises made that will materialize in 10 years, or five years or never because "we are studying the problem, looking for the solution, have the solution, investing in the solution... so by 2030 we'll have some homes actually built, (not enough) but we are working on it hard now for Canadians, especially for our youth, who have lost hope in home ownership. We know the challenges you are facing because of the world's problems especially the young. Trust us, we are working our best on your behalf". Mr. Poilievre knows we will hold him accountable and we also know it will not happen overnight, the day after he is elected but he is restoring the hope we have lost and have faith that he will do right by us. He will be working for us, as governments are elected to do, leading us in the right direction, forward and upwards. Canada will become Canada once again, working together united, not divided as we have been led. Let's go Canada, work together, live together and most of all respect each other and welcome our future together once again.
