Starting my internship journey as a Human Resources Recruitment and Industrial Relations Staff at Sekolah Kak Seto since July 1 has given me many valuable lessons. Here are some interesting experiences that I got during this first month: 1. Recruitment: I was given the opportunity to directly participate in the recruitment process which includes the stages of CV screening, psychological tests, microteaching (for teacher/tutor candidates), and interviews with users. I am proud to be able to filter more than 100 CVs in a day, act as an observer in microteaching sessions, and of course become an assistant interviewee (Recruitment Staff) in the interview process with Users. 2. Scoring Psychological Test Tools: My experience includes the melody of the DISC and PAPI Kostick test tools, as well as scoring for the CFIT, DISC, PAPI Kostick, and Kraepelin test tools. 3. Performance Assessment: I successfully modified the employee performance assessment system and distributed performance assessment forms to users for employees whose contracts had expired. This process enriched my understanding of using Excel formulas to get performance assessment results automatically. 4. Employee Attendance: I also got the chance to learn and compile employee attendance for July, which helped me understand the importance of attendance administration and how it is important in employee payroll later because it is interrelated. 5. Time Report: I was given the opportunity to compile time reports before being distributed to each employee. I compiled time reports for approximately 60 employees from July, August, September, October, November, and December. During this one month, I didn't just learn about the technical aspects of HR, but also developed my problem-solving, analytical, and attention to detail skills. This experience really opened my eyes and I am very grateful to be part of an amazing team at Sekolah Kak Seto. I can't wait to continue learning and contributing more in the coming months.

Dear HR managers, Please stop requiring 25-year-olds to have 15 years of experience in the industry if they want to get an entry-level job. Granted, experience carries weight, but it's not the be-alland end-all. Instead, ask if they're willing to work hard, learn quickly and show real passion for what your company does. Give them the chance to shine through their potential, not just their past. Give them the opportunity to develop and they can help shape the future of the company. Hello connections, I had just finished my internshala Human resources training course and it was quite the journey. I'm thrilled to share my experience! So picture this,The course layout was well-structured, with easy-to-follow modules covering various HR aspects like recruitment, employee relations, and performance management. Each module was packed with valuable insights and practical examples, case studies making the learning process engaging and enjoyable.The interactive quizzes and assignments helped reinforce my learning. One of the highlights of the course was the flexibility it offered. As a busy individual juggling work and other commitments, I appreciated being able to learn at my own pace and from the comfort of my home. Also the QnA forum is supportive, they respond within 24 hours . The drawback of this course is, I think they should teach in other languages also besides English. From day labourer to Global HR Professional! "A Journey of Perseverance and Passion" Every career begins with a story-mine started with a shovel in hand, laying bricks on a construction site under the Sri Lankan sun. I was just out of school, waiting for my Ordinary Level exam results, and working as a day labourer to support my family during tough times. It was an experience that not only humbled me but ignited a fire within me to aspire for more. Later, as I awaited my Advanced Level results, I found myself working as a school-leaver intern, gaining valuable exposure to the corporate world. Driven by curiosity and a hunger to learn, I applied to Sri Lanka's leading bank, where I secured a permanent position. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for Human Resources. I realized I didn’t just want to work; I wanted to build, grow, and inspire teams. With 3A’s in my Advanced Levels, I earned a coveted spot at the University of Peradeniya, one of Sri Lanka’s finest state university. Choosing HR as my specialization in the Faculty of Management, I dove headfirst into opportunities that would shape my path. In my final year, I joined Sri Lanka’s number one telecommunications company as a Talent Acquisition intern. What began as a six-month internship turned into a full-time role in the Compensation and Benefits team-a testament to the skills, resilience, and determination I brought to the table. After nearly 1 year and 3 months of invaluable experience, I felt the pull to expand my horizons. I wanted to immerse myself in the full spectrum of HR-what I call the “360-degree view.” This desire led me to my current role in a global organization that spans industries like IT, manufacturing, interior design, and education, operating across USA, Canada, Sri Lanka and India. Today, I work directly with the Global HR Director, managing diverse portfolios from talent acquisition to employer branding, across cultures, industries, and legal frameworks.
