Ans: The hazards of Lifting & Rigging:  Mechanical Failure  Poor ground stability  Over turn  Over loaded  Contact with power line  Tandem lifting  Lack of training  Poor supervision  Inadequate maintenance or inspection  Lack of barricading & signage’s  Incompetent rigger & operator  Working under suspended load  No hand signal  No boom angle indicate  Lack of communication rigger & operator  Banks man  High winds #Who_is_Rigger? Ans: A rigger is a worker who is responsible for moving heavy material and equipment around the worksite. When it comes to crane hire they are responsible for setting up crane equipment and temporary structure so the crane can perform the lift. #How many types of rigger? Ans: There is 3 types of rigger:  Rigger level 1 for any tandem and critical lifting above 50 tones  Rigger level 2 weight over 10 tones and less than 50 tones  Rigger level 3 weight is over 10 tones or less requires Note: Rigger must be:  Rigger must be trained, experienced and hold current third party certificate  Rigger must be able to determine weight, center of gravity and characteristic of a load  Rigger must be able to inspect and determine whether associate lifting equipment is damaged  Rigger must be familiar with different and correct sling techniques  Know correct hand signal  Rigger assets daily equipment and rigging checklist  Barricade the lifting area and signage’s  Rigger check crane and load capacity  Rigger must be maintain lifting SWL procedure  Rigger must be check crane out rigger fully extended  Rigger must be Inspect lifting tools #Note_to_take: when wind speed are above 32km/h (20mph), the rated load and boom length shall be reduce
