✏️ Parent Educator | I help school districts implement parent and family engagement programs so that they can foster supportive home environments, improve student outcomes, & strengthen family-school connections.
3 Things I wish I would have reminded myself of as a first-time parent: 1. Babies 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 come with a manual. 2. You don’t know, what you don’t know. 3. Every child is 𝐍𝐎𝐓 the same. Parenthood is both scary and exciting for most, but let’s face it, being a parent at times is 𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐃. We usually find ourselves tapping into our instincts and doing what we think, or feel is best. And for some of us, we start to focus on all the things that are going wrong, how we should know how to raise a child, or we go down the rabbit hole of comparing our experiences to others. We don’t know, what we don’t know and it takes a lot of humility to admit that. I have made it my mission to support parents like me as they try to 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐞 raising their children through various developmental stages. No matter what stage you are in with raising your child, I got you ❤️. Reach out and let’s chat. #peacefulparenting #parentingjourney

Building Trust with Our Kids: Reflections on Parenthood As parents, have we truly earned the trust of our children? If so, have we encountered situations where our child choose to withhold information, perhaps told a lie, or hesitated to share certain incidents? It makes us reflect on whether there's something we might have overlooked in building that level of trust. It's understandable that they won't share every detail with us, but these instances prompt us to consider the emotional connection we've fostered. It's a reminder to create an environment where our children feel secure enough to openly express their feelings, knowing they will be listened to and supported. Whether through asking about their well-being or offering assistance when needed, where they feel comfortable opening up about their experiences, concerns, and emotions, ensuring that our bond is built on trust, understanding, and unconditional support. Ground Your Kids…With Family Values 🧘🌱 Navigating parenthood feels like a balancing act, especially in today's fast-paced world. Let’s face the facts, being a growing child today is not the same as your experience growing up! 😅 This world is ever-changing, and one of the main challenges on the rise for parents is helping their children stay grounded despite the influence they are exposed to. One constant remains: FAMILY VALUES. Drawing from my teaching and coaching experiences, I've seen how these principles anchor children as society shifts and changes. The most successful way to build on family values is to create a FAMILY CHARTER. ✅ It serves as our compass, guiding us through challenges and allowing us to leverage our own unique strengths. This young man probably picked up a love for reading from his own family, displays values like Confidence and Intelligence.
