All:        I am announcing a new article on my website, #130, with the title: The Big Hurricanes Theory, the Great Unconformity, and a Supposed Worldwide Flood. It is 29 pages long and has 14 figures. After attempting to publish it in a shorter version in four refereed geology journals and two science magazines and in two Christian magazines and one Christian journal and being denied by editors of the geology journals and two science magazines, presumably because it had too much controversial religion topics in it, and by editors of the Christian magazines and one Christian journal because it had too much science in it, I have given up on getting it published in some place for general readership by the public or geologists. On that basis, I decided to expand it a bit and summarize both the science and the evidence that a worldwide Noah’s flood is not possible in order to have this information in one article instead of in several articles.  It includes a closing statement that shows that Christians can accept it with full endorsement because it meets the requirement that Jesus expects when he says: “Come follow me!”        I hope that you will share it with many people.        The article can be accessed at this link: Nr130BigHTheory3.pdf (csun.edu) Lorence (Larry) Collins (professor of geology emeritus, CSUN)

     I am announcing a new article, #123, on my website. Its title is Microfossil Record - Global changes in microfossils point to deposition over deep time.  It is authored by Steve Mitchell.  He is a retired petroleum geologist, a Christian, and a member of a Baptist Church in Texas. Petroleum geologists use microfossils in determining the relative geologic ages of sedimentary layers that are penetrated by the drilling. Article #123 describes foraminifera (forams), fusilinids, conodonts, coccoliths, spores, and pollen and shows that these microfossils evolve through the geologic fossil record and, therefore, show that evolution is a fact. It appears that Harvard University wasn't alone in reinstating standardised testing requirements. Cornell University has now followed suit, implementing this requirement for students seeking undergraduate admission for fall 2026 enrolment. To allow students adequate time for preparation and test-taking, Cornell will maintain its test-optional policy for applicants applying for fall 2025 enrolment to the College of Arts and Sciences, Cornell Engineering, the College of Human Ecology, the Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy, and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations. However, while the submission of SAT and/or ACT scores is optional, it's strongly recommended. Meanwhile, for students applying to enrol in fall 2025, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Architecture, Art and Planning, and the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business will remain score-free. Beginning with applicants seeking enrolment for for the autumn of 2026 or later, standardised test scores will be required for all eight Cornell undergraduate colleges and schools.
