That’s why our Scottish designer, Col, pointed us to this brilliant example of forward-thinking design from Diageo. The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ultra whisky bottle, launching at the London Design Festival, is the world's lightest standard-sized glass spirits bottle, weighing just 180 grams. Hand-blown and designed to reduce carbon emissions, it’s a great example of how luxury can also be sustainable. They’ve even added a bamboo cage for protection, keeping it light but strong. For a brand like Johnnie Walker, it’s a clever move.
