VoxelSensors, a Brussels-based startup founded in 2020, is revolutionizing 3D perception architecture and sensor technology for XR devices. Their flagship product, the Switching Pixels Active Event Sensor (SPAES), is a breakthrough in 3D perception. SPAES uses single-photon sensitive detectors to pinpoint the tip of a laser beam with high temporal resolution, generating ultra-low latency depth data through scan triangulation. 💡The technology promises precise segmentation, spatial mapping, anchoring, and natural interaction for XR devices, consuming less than 10 milliwatts of power with a latency under 5 milliseconds.
