📣 Are you an Advocate for Policy Change? 📣 Advocates and leaders can contribute to larger systemic change by advocating for policies that address health disparities, promote inclusivity, and reduce barriers to equitable healthcare. How? Through engaging in conversations with policymakers, joining advocacy groups, and use of collective voices to drive positive policy changes (reference: WCI DEIB Whitepaper). Today we would like to recognise the National Academy of Medicine collaborative and it’s founding partners for advocating for policy and system change. In their pursuit of improving the wellbeing of the health workforce, they established the National Health Workforce Well-Being (HWWB) Day. 📣 This week on March 18 the first HWWB Day was held 📣 Burnout continues to impact the health workforce and HWWB aims to give awareness to tangible steps in reducing this wellbeing impact. HWWB is also a day to collaborate and learn from each other to develop systems that support wellbeing in the workforce and therefore the impact these workers can have on their communities. Are you an advocate for policy change and looking to engage in continuous learning? Please visit the NAM website to learn more about the change they are creating. https://lnkd.in/gke9YYQf #wellnesscoaching #changemakers

This is a personal post with a strong ask. Those that follow me on LinkedIn know where I stand on this urgent issue which is a public and #occupationalhealth crisis. As we mark 4 years following the declaration of the global pandemic this month, and having personally served on the frontlines of #healthcare while experiencing #burnout, alongside my husband and son, then conducting a literature review and writing my dissertation on the topic, I invite you to join me in celebrating today, the first annual Health Worker Well-Being Day (#HWWB)! Personally, I believe it’s truly by God’s #grace I am alive and thriving today. As long as I have breath, it will be my mission to promote healthy work and learning environments for all healthcare workers and students. Health workers take great care of their patients and deserve more than just our admiration or lip service. The first annual #HWWBDay provides a new opportunity for collective action that everyone involved in the U.S. health system can get behind! Creating a #sustainable health system starts with a safe, fulfilled, and well health workforce. It is imperative for #healthcare and other leaders to implement evidence based solutions to improve the well-being of our healthcare workforce. In pursuit of improved health workforce well-being and patient care outcomes, the National Academy of Medicine’s Collaborative and founding partners—including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes' Foundation —have established March 18 as the annual Health Workforce Well-Being Day. I invite you to join me, this first annual #HWWBDay to prioritize #culturechange and healthcare and educational system transformation! Let’s embrace this opportunity for #leaders across the health system and sectors to collectively act and implement proven changes to improve the well-being of health workers. Join me in taking action— let’s not just talk the talk let’s walk the walk! nam.edu/HWWBDay #HealthWorkerWellBeing #HWWBDay #ChangeMaker #wellbeingmatter #systemschange #healthcareleadership #educationalleadership #grace #grit #gratitude Robert Delbo Gabriel Delbo

Today marks the first annual Health Workforce Well-being Day to recognize the importance of protecting health workers’ well-being to sustain our health system and ensure quality patient care. In 2023, nearly half of health workers reported often feeling burned out, up from a third in 2018. Here at Advocate Health we're focused on embedding well-being into our culture because we know a healthy workforce means healthy patients and communities. #HealthWorkerWellBeing #HWWBDay

Thank you, Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM), for the opportunity to discuss the significance of human-centred design in improving employee and patient experiences. During the conference, it became evident that many challenges discussed as "health sector issues" are prevalent across many sectors, such as disability, aged care, education, and early years care. Addressing these "shared" challenges requires a systemic approach transcending individual industries. Government and civil society must come together, recognise the common ground, and collaboratively design a more optimistic and secure human system of care and support at all stages of life. Embracing a holistic perspective and fostering collaboration among inter-industry colleagues is critical to creating a brighter future. Let's work towards a more inclusive and sustainable system that prioritises the well-being of employees and patients alike. #Healthcare #HumanCentredDesign #Collaboration #SystemicApproach #EmployeeExperience #PatientCare #ACHSM #HealthSector #InterIndustryCollaboration

Healthcare institutions, policies, systems, and leaders are taking tangible steps to reduce burnout and support the well-being of those who provide care--because a healthy workforce means healthy patients and communities. On this #WorldHealthDay I am reminded that health literacy particularly in SRHR is still largely limited and considered taboo. There's a need to go beyond biology and what feels 'safe.' Comprehensive and accurate information will influence health behavior and contribute to overall health outcomes. #WorldHealthDay #SRHR #DigitalHealth
