I've been doing research on finding a🌱 #natured_based solution to reduce #scour under pipeline and I came a cross Coir rolls as a novel solution in order to control scour around pipeline, and found out Salix River and Wetland had already used it as a countermeasure method. We probably need more research about these kinds of methods to combat erosion in coastal area too. The advantages of Coir rolls I can mention are: ✔First: Coir rolls absorb much more wave energy than seawalls, rock revetments, or other “hard” shoreline stabilization structures ✔Secondly: The relative costs for coir roll projects could be: Low-medium for design and permitting. Medium-high for construction. Low-medium for maintenance. Low for mitigation. #net_zero #nature #environment #erosion #coastal_erosion
