“Make sure you look out for everyone… so that everyone can go home safely.” That’s the advice Jake Newnham, a second year Zinfra Distribution Lineworker apprentice has about managing safety risks. During National Safe Work Month, we’re asking our team members ‘what safety means to them?’ because when it comes to safety first, we are all accountable. Our Field teams have shared the importance of holding each other accountable for: 👷♂️ Always wearing PPE 🖐️ Raising concerns 🤝 Collaborating on solutions 👊 Looking out for each other. At Zinfra, when it comes to safety, it is everyone’s business. Our approach to keeping people safe is guided by our Health and Safety Strategy 2025-2028, learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gT8Z2aDx

What a great post Sutanay Parida and National Aluminium Products Co SAOG on a topic many workplaces fail to address. I covered this topic for Light Metal Age in 2022 on how to communicate to all employees at a workplace instantly. Why is it necessary? Workplaces that cover vast area find it difficult to communicate with all of the employees instantly. Some companies use instant messaging to: - Inform workers of that day's summer heat index - Reinforce a safety campaign such as summer heat. - Warn employees of weather event (e.g., severe storms). - Communicate to workers after an evacuation. I would recommend that all workplaces develop a plan to instantly communicate with all employees. My article covering this topic can be found in the "Addressing the Risk of Workplace Violence" article located
Toolbox Talks (TBT) are one of the best and smartest tools to create consistent safety awareness. At Napco, we have diligently continued this practice for months, and it is now ingrained in our culture, contributing to our remarkable safety record.
