Radiology plays a vital role in both diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of a patient’s healthcare journey. Radiology is indispensable in modern medicine, playing an integrated role in a multidisciplinary team approach. Employing imaging techniques such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine, Radiology enables early detection, accurate diagnosis, and treatment planning for various medical conditions. Imaging can also be implemented to guide procedures and monitor treatment response, ensuring accurate outcomes. #CapitalRadiology #Radiology #ExpertImaging #PreciseDiagnoses #CompassionateCare #XRay #Ultrasound #CTScan #MRIScan #MedicalImaging #EarlyDetection #DiagnosticImaging #TreatmentPlanning #PatientCare #QualityOfLife

Endocrine Imaging is the radiology subspecialty devoted to the visualization of the endocrine system (hypothalamus, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, adrenal glands, pineal body, and pancreas) and the reproductive organs (ovaries and testes). A wide range of imaging modalities including Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Digital Radiography (X-RAY), angiography, and Interventional Radiology are used to assess function, locate, evaluate and measure the known or suspected lesions or tumors, and biopsy with image-guidance suspicious lesions or tumors. Stacie Buck, RHIA, CCS-P, CPCO, CIRCC, CCC, RCC, RCCIR
Stacie Buck, RHIA, CCS-P, CPCO, CIRCC, CCC, RCC, RCCIR is an Influencer SME Interventional & Diagnostic Radiology Coding Offering Online Education/Coding, Auditing & Customized Education Services for IVR & DX Radiology Providers
It's Q & A Thursday! Question: What documentation needs to be present to assign code 77263 with radioembolization procedures? Answer: Complex therapeutic radiology treatment planning, 77263 is reported by the authorized user (AU). This code is assigned when the AU utilizes patient data including the angiographic studies, cross-sectional imaging, previous treatment, the Tc-99m MAA scan, as well as 3D reconstruction imaging to plan the dose and the timing of treatment. Documentation must include how each of these studies was used in planning the radiotherapy. This decision and planning usually occurs between the time of a diagnostic angiogram procedure and a radioembolization therapeutic procedure, which occur at separate times. The AU may be the interventional radiologist, radiation oncologist or nuclear medicine physician. When the interventional radiologist is acting as the AU, he/she sees the patient in consultation, orders and reviews the diagnostic studies as part of the complex therapy planning and delivers the Y-90 dose. When another provider is the AU it includes reviewing the diagnostic data, performing the complex therapy planning, and directly supervising the administration of the Y-90 dose. A recent study assessed the exposure of medical personnel to ionizing radiation during vascular and internventional radiology procedures. The conclusion? Medical personnel are exposed to high levels of ionizing radiation, comparable to those observed in nuclear medicine procedures, which can pose significant health risks. This shows that there is a clear need for technology that can reduce radiation exposure to decrease the health risks faced by medical professionals. Check out the study at https://lnkd.in/eEXkkqNP and visit our website to learn how our AI-image guided systems can help. omegamedicalimaging.com #MedicalImaging #IonizingRadiation #RadiationExposure

📢 Are you going to #ECR2024? Don't miss this incredible opportunity to do some cvi42 hands on sessions and join the ECR workshops! In collaboration with #Siemenshealthineers. Register here before it gets fully booked! Cardiac MRi and CT Hands-on Workshops - ESR | European Society of Radiology (myesr.org) General information: The aim of the Cardiac CT and MRI hands-on workshop is to provide advanced information (ETC II+III) about the most relevant topics in cardiac imaging like myocardial ischaemia, cardiomyopathy and inflammatory diseases of the myocardium and pericardium. Participants will learn how to report CT and MRI exams in different clinical settings, acquiring specific skills to be used in clinical practice. Participants will work on typical and atypical clinical cases reflecting the most frequent diseases in a clinical routine. According to the topic, mainly CT and MRI cases will be added with the support of other modalities like nuclear medicine, ultrasound and angiography. Participants will also approach the use of specific reporting systems like CAD-Rads for coronary artery and specific structured reports for other diseases. The workshop will be interactive since participants will be asked to report the exams, and reports will be discussed with the faculty. Anne HUI SZE KWONG

Radiology, also called diagnostic imaging, is a series of different tests that take pictures or images of various parts of the body. Many of these tests are unique in that they allow doctors to see inside the body. A number of different imaging exams can be used to provide this view, including X-ray, MRI, ultrasound, CT scan, mammography, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, bone mineral densitometry and PET scan. Radiology’s role is central to disease management, with a wide choice of tools and techniques available for the detection, staging and treatment. Diagnostic imaging provides detailed information about structural or disease related changes. Early diagnosis saves lives. Without diagnosis there can be no treatment, there can be no cure.
