While I often advise on the importance of time in business, it's essential to remember that respect is a non-negotiable value. A former client shared with me the impact of our partnership - 'Your value,' she said, 'is my sanity and safety.' Reflecting on the substantial savings and avoided costs totaling over $60k on one matter I was able to save, not to mention the immeasurable value of peace of mind, it reaffirms the importance of mutual respect in our interactions. I don't believe in quantifying my worth, but I stand firm on valuing respect above all else. It is the foundation of trust and successful partnerships. However, when that respect is not reciprocated, it's crucial to reassess the dynamics at play. After all, we owe others the respect they afford us. In business and in life, let respect guide your interactions, leading to meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships. That’s how I operate - my value statements and practices are high and aligned.

Empowering Leaders to Lead with Intention - Executive Coach | Keynote Speaker | Global Women of Influence awardee | EGN Chair | Enoughness Mindset Architect | Breathing Specialist | Country Lead, The Art of Living
Navigating the Demons in True Partnerships Feeling threatened, doubtful, or anxious is part of the journey. When people collaborate, 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐲, 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥, but how we address these feelings is what makes a difference. Lakshmi and I, co-creators of the Enoughness mindset, have always explored the implicit and invisible expectations in partnerships. 💎 On Dussera, a day symbolizing the 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, we intentionally went deeper—beyond recognition and rewards—to examine what can truly hinder partnership. We agreed that transparency about the inner demons we all carry is key to building meaningful collaboration. Here are three tips we distilled from our conversation: 1️⃣ Discuss and agree on what truly matters. 2️⃣ Be vulnerable enough to share your demons (we all have them). 3️⃣ Agree on how you will address these demons together when they arise. 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬. 𝐈𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. What inner demons have you had to confront in your partnerships?

When you think of negotiating a deal, what comes to mind? 🤔 For me, it looks like this — a celebratory hard hat tour at the National Geographic Society! 🏗️ Recently, my colleague Annie Xie and I had the honor of celebrating the extension of Cengage Group’s exclusive partnership with the Society — a deal that will last well into many of our retirements! Pictured with us is Sumeet Seam, the Society’s Chief Legal Officer. Together with Jeanne Fink, we were tasked with navigating the complexities of this negotiation, managing diverse needs, and overcoming tight deadlines. The key to our success? Mutual respect, attentive listening, creative problem-solving, and setting clear expectations both internally and with each other. Without that foundation of collaboration, we wouldn’t be celebrating with smiles and new friendships alongside our CEOs and respective teams. 🤝 Collaboration made all the difference. How do you approach collaboration in your own negotiations? Let’s discuss in the comments! #leadership #collaboration #negotiation #teamwork #celebration

✍ In a recent interview, Ryan Dunlap, Chief Conflict Officer of Conflictish®️, discussed the transformative impact of their Real Tact Leadership program. This program is designed specifically for law enforcement executives to enhance their conflict resolution skills through a focused approach. The Real Tact Leadership program emphasizes three pillars: self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-control. Through practical exercises, officers learn to identify their tendencies under pressure, whether they over-engage, avoid conflict, or collaborate too intensely. ⚡ Moreover, Ryan noted: "When we start counting the cost of what conflict has done in our lives, we tend to approach it differently." This program also addresses eight common failures during high-pressure situations, such as challenges with rapport, engagement, authenticity, and timing. By recognizing these issues, officers can transform from conflict escalators to de-escalators, fostering a healthier work environment. Through the Law Enforcement Community Engagement Network (LECEN), we provide best practices, peer support, and industry expertise. LECEN’s mission is to professionalize community engagement efforts by creating a trusted network where members can connect, develop, and collaborate. Join us in transforming conflict resolution within law enforcement. How do you handle conflict under pressure?
