Previously, I talked about the importance of Reproductive life plan is preparing for pregnancy. It helps you receive the right intervention when you are ready to get pregnant and birth control interventions when you are not ready for pregnancy. I promised to talk about how you can design a reproductive life plan. There are a lot of resources on the internet that can help you design your reproductive life plan. There are series of questions that you need to answer to help you create the plan. The first question to answer is “Do I plan to have any or more children at anytime?” The next step is to answer questions about your plans for having children. There are 2 sets of questions depending on whether or not you want to have children. The document below designed by DeaRx Mom, will help you design your reproductive life plan. This is just the beginning. Racism, and not Race affects women of color. We must go beyond talking about it, and take action. Action can be individual, as an organization, community/ society. 1. Patients should self-advocate. Write down your concerns. Speak up! Take a friend, family, colleague, or partner with you for clinical evaluation. 2. Learn the warning signs of #maternalmortality from #CDC or reputable societies like #ACOG 3. Community ownership is a big one. Communities must continue to speak up and educate the populace. Use events like baby showers, and sorority events to discuss important issues. Knowledge is Power! 4. Organizations and hospital systems are not left out :) 😄 Normalize discussions about respectful care, cultural competency, etc. The Cleveland Clinic Center for Infant and Maternal Health was created to address the above. We support at-risk birthing people and women during pregnancy and the first year of infant life. 💡Teenage pregnancy presents a significant public health concern. 💡Pregnancy of 19 years and below is referred to as Teenage pregnancy. 💡It poses preventable health risks for both the mother and the infant with cases of eclampsia, puerperal endometritis and systemic infections. 💡Often, teenage pregnancies are unplanned and can significantly disrupt the educational, personal, and socioeconomic development of both the young parents and their child. 💡Furthermore, teenage pregnancy can have a lasting demographic impact on future generations. Pregnancy centers put so much effort into posting graphics and generic photos on Instagram and Facebook. Then find out they aren’t reaching abortion vulnerable women through strategic, targeted content. The solution? Film 15-60 second videos. The goal is... test a variety of content.
