Let's come together to save lives, one drop at a time! 💉🩸 💛🧡 Did you know .. 🩸1 in 3 people will need blood products in their lifetime, but only 1 in 30 donate 🩸1.7million+ blood donations are required a year, 3 every minute to keep up with demand. 💛 Donating plasma (aka liquid gold) can be used in 18 lifesaving ways. 💛 You can donate plasma as frequently as every 2 weeks! 🧡 Platelet donations only last 7 days and are used for those undergoing chemotherapy, surgery or major trauma. 🧡 Only males can donate platelets, due to the reduction of antibodies which cause the body to attack foreign substances. 🩸💛🧡 Living in the UK between 1980-1996? In early 2023 I set a target of 12 donations. Monthly visits was more frequent than I'd done before. I'm proud to have reached a new PB (personal best) of 14 donations in 2023. Thanks to Jodie Thompson and Geoff Browning for being my donor friends. I'm setting my goal is for 15 (or more) visits in 2024. Happy New Year and see you soon. Completed Organ Donation: From Death to Life course!

I have had many challenges in my 30 year tech career, from harassment to gender discrimination. Each challenge I overcome is attributed to the drive as not being seen as the "weaker sex". In many ways I am grateful for these challenges because they have made me stronger and prepared me for my team leadership role.
