Future rebel-military integration efforts can learn from Nepal's program. My research explores some of the functional elements that contributed to the peaceful integration of Maoist rebels into the Nepali Army. The study suggests that rebel-military integration programs can be more effective when the rebels are integrated individually based on the agreed-upon criteria rather than integrating the rebel units in bulk.
