Why do some companies struggle with digital transformation? According to Claudio Saes in Forbes, while the term "digital transformation" has been buzzing around for years, a significant observation is that many initiatives focus more on crises instead of seizing opportunities. Saes highlights a critical oversight in many efforts: the human factor. Resistance to change, particularly under stress or perceived threats, can drastically hinder a project's success. Senior leaders perceive their organisation's digital transformation differently to the rest of the organization, creating a critical perception gap. Closing the "Digital Detachment" Gap: Insights from the Digital Leadership 2024 Perspective 🚀 In their enlightening new study, The Digital Leadership Specialists, Robin Speculand and Jeremy Blain have identified a critical "Digital Detachment" among senior leaders in organisations. This perception gap can lead to misdirected investments in technology and initiatives, frustrating employees who lack the necessary support and resources. 🔍 From their extensive research covering 2,138 leaders across four continents and 18 countries, it has been revealed also that only half of the leaders are effectively aligning their digital transformation efforts around customer needs and organisational culture. 📈 To combat this, Speculand and Blain have developed the IDCLA Framework to transition from digital detachment to digital determination. The framework's five steps are: ● Identify your digital ambition. ● Decide on focusing on efficiency, customer experience, or both. ● Cultivate a transformational culture. ● Leverage your data operating model. ● Activate awareness to action. 💡 Explore how this model can redefine your organisation's approach to digital transformation and align your leadership for better results. 🔍 Discover more about Robin Speculand and his work at https://lnkd.in/e7RfHtA6 #DigitalTransformation #Leadership #BusinessStrategy

Digital transformation is proving to be tougher than most leaders anticipate and moving slower than they are hoping. 🌐 Recent findings by digital transformation experts Robin Speculand and Jeremy Blain highlight a significant "Digital Detachment" within top leadership and board members in organisations, which is slowing down their digital transformation. . 📊 Their research across 18 countries has identified the impact of this disparity is also causing frustration within the organisation as investment is being made in the wrong technologies and employees are being starved with the resources they need. 🔑 To address these challenges, they introduce the IDCLA framerwork, which has five steps: ● Identify digital goals. ● Decide the main focus areas. ● Cultivate a supportive culture. ● Leverage data insights. ● Activate comprehensive strategies. 🚀 Implementing these steps can help bridge the gap between leadership perception and organisational reality, ensuring a cohesive and successful digital transformation. 🔗 Learn more about Robin Speculand’s transformative approaches at https://lnkd.in/e7RfHtA6 #Leadership #DigitalChange #BusinessTransformation

People need to understand what these goals mean for their day-to-day jobs and what they will be expected to do differently.
