We’re anchored not only by our mission statement but by our safety culture, too. Aerial Lift Safety is yet another topic on OSHA’s National Stand-Down week-long campaign and our field crews addressed this subject from the ground up. Teams discussed the gravity of standing firmly on the floor of baskets, and avoiding sitting or climbing on edges of planks, baskets, ladders, guardrails, or other devices for work positions. Body belts were addressed and when/how to use them. Over 1,100 of our skilled union craftsmen are well versed in aerial safety, but a refresher is always beneficial. Our goal is to be 100% compliant with OSHA’s requirements as set forth in their statutes, standards and regulations. Ladders are used for everything from getting something just out of reach at work to accessing the gutters on our properties. The thing is though, ladders aren’t as safe as we would like to think and every year thousands of people are injured when using them. 🚧 Construction Safety Week Tip #5 🚧 Ride-on construction equipment like skid steers, excavators, and forklifts is beneficial but dangerous if not used correctly. Ensure operators are trained, inspect equipment regularly, wear seat belts, and use spotters and mirrors for visibility. Understand stability limits, watch for overhead clearance, and communicate clearly with ground personnel. Stay safe! #ACMServices #ConstructionSafetyWeek #SafetyWeek2024 #ConstructionSafety #SafetyFirst #SafetyCulture #SafetyTips #WorkplaceSafety #SafetyMatters #StaySafe #SafetyIsPriority #EquipmentSafety
