1moBrown Skin, Bruised, but Not Broken! In my latest piece, I explore the raw tension between identity and society through vivid colors and chaotic energy, reflecting the struggle for freedom and recognition. At the heart of this work lies the symbolism of a crown, representing resilience and empowerment amidst adversity. It challenges the narratives that seek to diminish the worth of those with brown skin, reclaiming dignity in the face of systemic oppression. Complementing this is the broken balance of justice, a poignant reminder of the inequities faced by marginalized communities. This imagery speaks to the fragility of fairness and the ongoing battle for equality Additionally, the red, blue, and white siren lights atop the black-and-white patrol car symbolize the fear and anxiety that wash over most of us when being pulled over.
