Alltough the anglo-sakson (american) and rhineland models (central european) of designing publice spaces are quite different there is still much to learn on how the make Intentional Urbanism work as opposed to rational urbanism. As stated by David; its not about designing the right kind of places, but the right kind of placemaking practises. #ListeningSession 6 - GCF’s President and CEO, Matthew Randazzo and Chief Impact Officer, Rasheda Malcolm-Cromwell hosted an open forum with organizations in the arts and culture sector that enrich our region through creative endeavors, employment and arts education. During the conversation, attendees expressed a clear need for more funding and support for staffing and operations. Additional takeaways include a desire for more artists to be at the decision-making table, better access to boardrooms and private sector spaces, and greater recognition of the positive effects the arts have on our regional economy. How do you think we can best serve our region’s artists and cultural institutions? What opportunities do the arts bring to the region and how can we ensure these opportunities persist?

For all his achievements, Dan Brodsky has remained relatively low-key, especially compared to public-facing contemporaries like Donald Trump and Larry Silverstein. That has so far left the story untold of how he created a kind of aura around The Brodsky Organization name over the past five decades in New York #realestate — using his deep pockets, cunning dealmaking and the right connections to amass the kind of power that money alone can’t buy. Take, for example, Brodsky's role as peacemaker in the power struggle for control of the iconic #Flatiron Building. After months of dealmaking drama, Brodsky came up with a solution that satisfied the needs of the various stakeholders and secured for himself a lead role in converting the landmark into condos. "Dan was the solution," said one person familiar with how Brodsky won the deal, the details of which — told in TRD's April issue for the first time — reveal how he’s operated as one of real estate’s most influential leaders.
