When flawed data drives decisions in consulting and private equity, the fallout can be severe — investments that don’t deliver, client strategies that don’t land, and thought leadership insights that compromise reputation. Yet, in today’s survey ecosystem, ensuring data quality is becoming increasingly challenging. Fraud has long plagued the survey industry, with issues like click farms and VPN usage contributing to the challenge. Things have only escalated with the rise of GenAI.
Consultants and investors, here’s an open secret in the survey ecosystem: No amount of “data cleaning” can compensate for a sample that lacked high-quality respondents in the first place. Our Head of Data Quality, Marc Di Gaspero, did some research, revealing what many suppliers won't admit: Data cleaning alone isn’t enough. You can filter out bad data all you want, but if you didn’t attract strong respondents from the outset, you’re just playing defense with your data. Read our breakdown and some actionable takeaways here —> https://bit.ly/4fzZUcU

Earlier this week, we at Barrett and Greene Inc. wrote a B&G Report titled "Mousetraps for Bad Data." It consisted of six tips, based on our experience for identifying flawed #data in the public sector before you use it to make management or policy decisions. We'd like to expand on the column with advice from others (who can be identified by name or not. It' up to you). Take a look at the piece and let us know if you have any thoughts, please. Well-deserved in my opinion! CrateDB enables the execution of complex aggregation queries and searches across all data types, swiftly adapting to rapidly evolving business analytics needs and powering AI models, all while maintaining the simplicity of SQL. By consolidating disparate data into CrateDB and integrating it with LLM and ML algorithms, users can harness real-time intelligence. The icing on the cake is that this is achieved without the need to concern oneself with ongoing optimization requirements such as indexing, scalability, and resiliency. CrateDB's distributed architecture is specifically designed to handle immense volumes of data in real-time, indexing them instantaneously, and is built to ensure high availability and resilience.
Thanks to Database Trends and Applications for listing CrateDB as one of the trend-setting products in data for 2025. This recognition underscores our commitment to innovation and our dedication to providing organizations with a database solution that adapts to ever-changing market demands.
