Did you know that the majority of graduates DON'T end up working in corporate graduate schemes? As Farrah says below, there are great opportunities in startups and SMEs, and also a wide variety of 'grad level but not grad scheme' roles that you could apply for after your studies:
Getting grads noticed 👀, hired 🎉 & promoted 💸 for well-paid, inspiring careers | 1:1 Career Accelerator 🚀 | 1:1 Career Intensive 💪🏼
Grad schemes are a brilliant option, EXCEPT ...they're not the ONLY option. Launch your early career by... #graduate #graduatejobs #earlycareers #gradscheme #startupjobs

Random Posting Series : 3 Placement committees are among the most coveted groups in B-schools. They come with the perception of respect and influence, where your peers and juniors treat you with a mix of admiration and caution. I had similar aspirations during my MBA journey. I joined as a shadow member, excited and driven, ready to sacrifice anything for the work, even my academics. I wore my involvement in the committee as a badge of honor, often boasting about my role in front of my classmates. As the year progressed, we were nearing the election for senior positions. Despite all the hard work we put in, I realized that most of my batchmates were unaware of our contributions behind the scenes. Self-doubt crept in, and I found myself resorting to lobbying and seeking support from others in the hopes of securing a spot in the senior team. It wasn’t ethical, and deep down, I knew it. Unfortunately, the senior team caught wind of these efforts. What followed was a public humiliation, where we were berated in front of the entire group. We were told in no uncertain terms that we would never make it to the senior positions, regardless of what we did. It shattered my confidence, and I felt isolated. The hardest part was watching those who once stood by me during late-night committee work turn away as if I no longer mattered. I realized then that my mistake wasn’t in wanting something badly, but in tying my self-worth to a title and the validation of others. To anyone going through the placement season, remember this: your worth is not defined by any committee or title. Focus on acquiring knowledge, as it’s your best defense. Stay true to yourself, communicate with empathy, and remember that at the end of the day, it’s just another job. What truly matters is who you become in the process. #Placements #BschoolLife #MBA #SelfGrowth #EmpathyInLeadership #LessonsLearned

Graduate Student and Division 1 Athlete at Loyola Marymount University pursuing a Master's of Science in Business Analytics. Aspiring leader in sport. Skilled in statistical analysis, teamwork, and communication.
In my final semester as an undergrad at Loyola Marymount University, I got the chance to take the EDLP Student-Athlete Career Development Course with Bobby Thompson and Sherilyn Frazier. Throughout the course, we heard from a multitude of incredible speakers, such as Zack Gonzales, Ashley Henderson, Ty-Ron Douglas, Ph.D, Rheina Ale, Jeron Smith, Samantha Khoury (Stewart), Sebastian J. Sam, Tim Love, J.D., and Simone Jackson. These fantastic speakers discussed their career journeys, emphasizing the value provided to us by our student-athlete experience and how to leverage that experience in our future careers. #IgniteYourVocation For our final projects, we got the chance to give a brief Career Prospectus Presentation in front of the class on a potential future career path, including the what (the position, and what we want to accomplish with it), the why (why we want to do it) and the how (how to make it happen). Drawing from my experiences across the breadth of my athletic career and inspirations such as Zack Gonzales and Drew Hanlen, my presentation was on a career path I find very interesting: A holistic player skills and life development coach. This is my first time presenting/discussing the idea in any way. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated. If you know anybody in this space that you believe would be a strong connection, please feel free to share their name in the comments. Special Thanks To: Travis Ellison (the man behind the camera) Tyson Ross Timothy Law Snyder Craig Pintens

For anything to work out in life - Talent, hard work and luck all need to align. As the placement season is around the corner, I was reflecting on my emotions when I was in the process. It hurts when you give it your all and still don’t make it. In my year, I know people who were favorites across firms but didn’t get any offer. I know people who didn’t even make it to the shortlist of top firms and ended up founding multi million dollar companies I personally didn’t get a shortlist from top tier firms when I was at IIT. If you get your preferred role, celebrate and stay humble. If you don’t, it is not the end of the road. There are only a few things needed to create a beautiful life, and a top tier placement offer isn’t one of them. #careers #personaldevelopment #mentalhealth
