The Untold Challenges of Being a Music Manager: What You Don’t See Being a music manager is a role that many see as glamorous, but the reality is far more complex, especially when working with emerging artists. My journey has been filled with challenges that have shaped me into the professional I am today, but the work is far from over—this is a continuous learning process. One of the most unforgettable moments in my career was selling the very first gig for Thype. For small artists, booking gigs is incredibly tough. It requires persistence, negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the market. This is just one aspect of the many challenges that come with the territory. Another critical but often unseen part of my job is keeping the artist motivated when things aren’t moving as fast as they’d like. When the career feels stagnant, and nothing big is happening, it's my job to keep them focused, encourage them to continue creating content, and remind them of the bigger picture. The reality of being a manager involves handling a lot of the day-to-day tasks that many don’t see—things like scheduling, negotiations, and strategizing social media content. These might seem small, but they are essential in freeing up the artist's time so they can focus on what truly matters: creating music. Every challenge, every obstacle we’ve faced, has been a learning experience. But I’m still on this journey, still growing, and still pushing through the challenges that come our way. My work isn’t finished—far from it. For any artist reading this, know that having a manager isn’t just about signing deals; it’s about having someone who believes in your potential, who handles the behind-the-scenes work so you can focus on your art. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the industry’s demands, remember you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s continue to grow together, learn from each challenge, and make sure the music reaches where it deserves to be. #MusicManagement #ArtistSupport #MusicIndustry #EmergingArtists #LearningJourney #BehindTheScenes #MusicBusiness

Are you a frustrated songwriter wondering why things aren’t going your way? Maybe you disconnected with your dream? I’m looking for another 9 songwriters(producers/artists too) who are ready to get serious about their Music career. (Although only 5 spots left and going fast) After working with hundreds of budding songwriters over the last 20 years I've realised a very sad truth. Most of them are going round in circles, left frustrated about their lack of success and isolated with no one to support them. Others have lost their inspiration and are not creating the songs that they could be doing, They regularly live with: i) A job that leaves them empty and tired and no time or energy to create ii) An absence of feeling fulfilled and truly happy and creative iii) The feeling of being isolated and alone. This leads to endlessly scrolling social media and wondering why someone else is successful and we are not! And worst of all, sometimes forgetting the dreams we had and losing our direction. Instead of following our dreams we settled for second best because we think that's all we deserve. I Say WE as this was my story back in 2003! But i did something about it and have never looked back! I was stuck in a self-imposed prison just because of some simple hurdles that could have been overcome, such as: i) Learning the skills I needed to succeed ii) Finding the courage to take risks iii) Building a supportive network. If you're honest with yourself... You know what to do, but something is stopping you. Over the last few years, I've been working with people just like you. Helping them to change their lives for the better using the creativity that lies deep within them. They've surprised themselves with what's possible in this world! They’ve achieved dreams that seemed impossible just a few years before. THEY ARE CREATIVELY FREE. So, I’m putting together my eighth edition of the "DWB Songwriter Mentor’’ program to help songwriters to get back control of the their creativity and to re-start them on following their own journey. This is going to be a powerful, four month transformation of all of the key areas of your songwriting journey and business. Top to bottom, Body and Soul. You’re going to get direct, one-to-one access to me and we’re going to tackle every problem you have together. Do you want to be one of these 5 songwriters? If this has CONNECTED with you. Please don’t just scroll past it and do nothing. Because nothing will change if you keep doing what you're doing. If you want something you've never had before, you need to do something you've never done before. I need to work with people who are SERIOUS, so please no time wasters, just get in touch if you are serious about making songwriting your career and serious about making a change! If this is YOU then send me a private message and I will reach out to you with some suggestions of what you can do about it. Stop dreading Mondays! I look forward to seeing you on the other side.

👀 It's a Doggy Dog World Snoop Dogg and Death Row Records just signed with Reservoir Media for publishing rights. If you’ve been in the music industry for a little bit, you know that a deal of that scope can look nice on paper - especially when you’ve got a catalog as iconic as Snoop’s. This move is less about making headlines and more about securing "the bag." Reservoir Media isn’t just any player; they’re known for squeezing every last drop of value out of a catalog (8% year-to-year increase of their revenue reported with 15% year-over-year rise in publishing revenue). The deal ensures that Snoop’s music gets that premium treatment - translation: more cash flow for the Doggfather. This is a classic case of leveraging legacy assets in a smart way and a reminder that, in the end, it's all about making sure your work keeps paying off - decades down the line. https://lnkd.in/edaTb4by #MusicBusiness #IP #PublishingDeals #SnoopDogg #DeathRowRecords #EntertainmentLaw
