"I was thinking we're all gonna die," says 12-year-old Brayden Taylor. Plans for a sunny day fishing off the coast of Amelia Island, Florida, took a wild turn for Brayden, his grandpa Jamie Deonas, and Jamie's friend Frank when a sudden storm hit. In the blink of an eye, they were fighting to stay afloat as water flooded their vessel. Putting on their PFDs minutes before the boat capsized saved their lives. They spent two hours in the water while three storms pummeled them before being rescued. For Jamie, a seasoned mariner, it was a wake-up call. Although he always knew where the life jackets were, he now swears he won't go on the water without physically wearing one. With National Safe Boating Week happening now, this harrowing experience serves as a powerful reminder that accidents can happen quickly. Always wear your life jacket; you might not have time to put it on when you need it most. #livebeyondland
