🚀 Exciting insights from Aquapak's latest study on sustainable packaging trends! The comprehensive report, ‘FMCG Flexible Packaging: Accelerating the Move from Plastic to Paper,’ highlights growing concerns among UK packaging experts over plastic usage and the impact of microplastics on our environment. Of the 100 experts surveyed, a significant 37% are extremely concerned, with 63% sharing notable apprehension. Microplastics, tiny particles from plastic breakdown, are increasingly threatening our oceans, waterways, and health. The study shows a strong consensus (84%) for tougher regulations to reduce microplastic pollution. A positive shift is on the horizon, with 92% of experts planning to transition from plastic to paper-based flexible packaging. However, this change is gradual, with most expecting completion by 2028. Encouragingly, 86% of businesses are ready to invest more in sustainable packaging to reduce environmental harm. Over half (56%) of businesses are willing to pay 4% - 5% more for eco-friendly materials, underscoring a commitment to sustainability despite cost implications. Long-term investment in recyclable and sustainable packaging is also anticipated to rise, with 65% of respondents expecting increased spending. Dr. John Williams, CTO at Aquapak, emphasizes the need for faster adoption of innovative solutions like Hydropol, a polymer that breaks down without forming harmful microplastics. 🌍 Let's reduce harm by accelerating the move to paper-based flexible packaging. Here is a link to the report: https://bit.ly/3zPIj0K 🌍 The future of FMCG packaging is sustainable and environmentally friendly! #Sustainability #FlexiblePackaging #ReduceHarm #PaperPackaging #EcoFriendly #Microplastics #Innovation #FMCG #Aquapak

This post brings up some very important points about sustainable packaging. While the shift to compostable plastics is indeed a positive step towards environmental sustainability, it’s important to consider the challenges that come with it. For instance, compostable plastics can often be more expensive to produce than conventional plastics, which can increase costs for both manufacturers and consumers. Additionally, when compostable plastics are not properly sorted and processed, they can contaminate the recycling stream, making it more difficult to recycle traditional plastics. This contamination can reduce the quality of recycled materials and ultimately hinder recycling efforts. It highlights the need for better waste management systems and public education on proper disposal methods. Overall, while the move towards greener packaging is essential, we must also address these logistical and financial challenges to ensure that sustainable solutions are truly effective and beneficial for the environment.

"Leap Into Sustainability: How Eco-Friendly Packaging is Revolutionizing Business at HempStor.in/Chakdesi" Today, as we are celebrating Leap Day, we are utilizing this opportunity to share with all of you that how Hemsptor.in/Chakdesi’s Unique selling Proposition into providing eco-friendly sustainable packaging materials and solutions has helped us create big leaps in our business and even in contributing to the environment. Lets together understand that why and how our eco-conscious sustainable packaging material should be chosen and is essentially the need of the hour: Environmental Impact - Traditional plastic or polymer based packaging materials end up in landfills, causing land and soil pollution. These plastics also create heaps and layers, because of their non-biodegradable property, hence affecting the ecosystem and the environment. Making a conscious shift to our sustainable packaging materials, which are made from jute, cotton and canvas will reduce the load on the environment. Consumer Mindset - With time, consumers have also become eco-conscious and are making a mindful shift to companies and products that use sustainable packaging materials as they are durable and long-lasting. Also by adopting eco-friendly packaging, businesses can appeal to environmentally conscious consumers and enhance their brand reputation. Regulatory compliance - With stringent laws on single-use plastics and non-biodegradable materials, companies and businesses are under the pressure of opting for sustainable materials and practices. Making the leap to eco-friendly packaging now positions us ahead of regulatory changes and ensures long-term compliance. Cost-Effective- Switching to eco-friendly packaging may require an upfront investment, but it pays off in the long run. Sustainable materials save money by cutting waste, boosting efficiency, and building stronger customer loyalty. Branding on these sustainable package materials will also help businesses in boosting their marketing and increase their brand visibility and awareness in their customer’s memory. As we approach midyear, many big brands are set to miss their 2025 sustainability targets. Unilever cut its plastic reduction goal from half by 2025 to one-third by 2026. Colgate-Palmolive hit 89.5% recyclable, reusable, or compostable packaging by 2023, but challenges will impact their full transition by 2025. PepsiCo concedes it is unlikely to achieve 100% recyclable, compostable, biodegradable, and reusable packaging by 2025. Every one of these brands agree that innovation and collaboration are needed to make the targets achievable. With a range of over 3000+ products across moulded fibre and corrugate, we have sustainable packaging solutions for every sector. A recent study in the US found that 71% of Americans want to buy products with as little packaging as possible, whilst the same percentage of Europeans want to buy environmentally friendly products. “Sustainability is now top of mind for everyone“ said Ilkka Leppävuori, global head of Bain & Company’s packaging group, the company behind these reports. “Gone are the days when paper and packaging decisions were made based solely on cost, functionality, and consumer experience.” However despite increasing awareness, consumers still find it difficult to identify environmentally friendly products themselves. A survey of 4000 US consumers shows that only 12% correctly answered that single-use plastics have less carbon emissions than single-use glass. Meanwhile, a survey in the UK found low levels of understanding of key terminology – with confusion around terms such as sustainable, environmentally friendly and the circular economy. Confusion isn’t restricted to consumers. Although most consumer product companies have publicly stated their sustainability pledges, brand owners are still unsure about which packaging materials are best for certain uses and how best to communicate their impact. Solinatra makes it simple. Our sustainable solution is 100% natural and plastic free, an innovative material that can be used for a wide range of products and packaging. Compostable and biodegradable at the end of use, products made of Solinatra have a lower carbon footprint, reduced emissions without compromise on quality or functionality. Better for consumers, better for businesses: Solinatra can be processed in existing production lines and machinery – the truly sustainable alternative to single use plastic!
