There are 10 x steel cans, approximately 90mm in diameter and 100mm in height, located at the corners of the enclosure at both high and low level, along with strategically placed cans near the baffle. The cans are filled with heptane and are ignited and allowed to burn freely for 30s then the system is manually activated. The RD023 – A quick response pendent sprinkler... Pendent sprinklers hang down from the pipeline and produce a hemispherical water distribution pattern below the deflector. Quick response sprinklers have a thinner glass bulb which increases the sprinkler’s thermal responsiveness. In the case of a fire, the heat causes the fluid in the glass bulb to expand which shatters the glass and releases the spring seal assembly. Water flows from the orifice onto the sprinkler deflector which diffuses the water into a uniform spray pattern that extinguishes or controls the fire. Fact - Cylinders do not have to be placed in the dedicated protected area and can be placed up to 300 meters from it, saving valuable space. 2. Pipework for a chemical system is easier to install than an Inergen system. Fact - On the contrary, chemical systems use pipe dimensions that are 2 to 3 times larger. These pipes can take up a lot of space, are heavy to handle, and require a robust building structure. 3. Chemical systems don’t need any pressure dampers in the protected area. Fact - Most chemical systems need a pressure damper.
