Really enjoyed this edition of TECHtonic podcast on The State of Customer Success 2024 - A Fight for Survival Some takeaways: 1. Customer Success & CSMs are still relevant in 2024 even with GenAI helping CSMs in augmenting value delivery work. My thought here is that GenAI will not be able to completely replace CSMs due to intricate nuances in the customer relationship and the value creation process. 2. Much gap bridging between CSMs compensation and the outcomes delivered in the industry today. According to one of the hosts, firing CSMs who cannot meet their quotas or Booking Contribution Targets (BCTs) is a grave mistake. Moreover, I believe CSMs are also so much less compensated than AEs or Sales. 3. XaaS company needs to be crystal clear on what Customer Success means and articulate that to your partners. If it means driving revenue and adoption, then break it down as dummy-proof as possible to your partners. Also, the data handshake between partners and vendors is also a very delicate part of the process. Sales, Customer Success teams, and partners shouldn't be territorial about who owns the customer data; everyone collectively owns the customer data. 4. The PCSM role is emerging to be a high-touch partner enabler for CS. One of the challenges here is also how to enable partners to monetize Customer Success services. #customersuccess #management
