Entry deadline extended! 📅 Due to an overwhelming number of requests, the entry deadline for the RAD Awards 2025 has been extended until 23:55 on Friday 11 October. This gives you the opportunity to give your entries one final finesse before submitting. Why not increase your chances of winning by entering multiple categories? Remember, you can enter the same campaign or initiative into as many categories as you like, as long as it meets the category criteria. Happy Monday! A week or so ago, I was judging the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards. Now the tables have turned, as I started this week by finalising my submissions for the 2024 ROAR Awards. When I first started my business, the idea of entering business awards made me feel ick. But now I see the value of entering them. Last Wednesday, I had the chance to join yet another grand jury session for COMMWARD 2024, judging the Effective Use of Media and Creative Use of Media categories. While there were a few standout campaigns, there were also far too many that felt repetitive and cliché. What struck me most were the campaigns that had all the potential but didn’t break through due to poorly crafted case studies. Case studies need to be tailored for each category, but this is something we often fail to grasp. We tend to blame time constraints and deadlines, but the real issue is that we don't start working on our case studies right after a campaign wraps up. That has to change. I've been saying this for years - we need to up our game. Otherwise, we’ll end up in a place where clichés are celebrated over the truly deserving work, and that's a future none of us want to see. That said, today's session left me hopeful. The industry colleagues who were present and the campaigns we reviewed showed that we have the talent and the drive.
