Bay Area Air Quality Management District's Community Engagement Office, in partnership with Chris Selig and Associates, will host a virtual Public Funding Workshop on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 10 AM – 12 PM on Zoom. The workshop will be free and open to the public. Register at the link below. There is unprecedented public funding for climate-related planning and mitigation, resilient infrastructure, and civic engagement. The workshop aims to demystify public funding in order to help community-based organizations assess their interest, capacity, and fit for applying for state and federal grant opportunities. It will cover topics such as what the opportunities are, what to consider before applying, and where to access pro bono resources, tools, and technical assistance. It's time to lobby for the funding, policy and planning reforms that CLTs need to contribute to the UK’s affordable housing targets, building community wealth and sustainability goals! https://lnkd.in/eK23VBPu Our government has recognised that we need all hands on deck to diversify how we are responding to the housing crisis, how we build community wealth and how we make a just transition to net zeros. Collectively, the 360+ CLTs in England and Wales can be a major contributor. But we need the funding, policy reform and capacity to make real progress – without being held back by hurdles in a system not designed for CLTs. This is where our lobbying campaign comes in! The USDOT recently released an update on the distribution of funding and investments to disadvantaged communities in FY 2022 and FY 2023. The Justice40 initiative aims to deliver 40% of federal investments to disadvantaged communities, and the USDOT not only met but exceeded these goals. In 2023, 55% of Justice40 benefits, and in 2022, 61% flowed to disadvantaged communities. Moving Greater Minnesota Forward is MnDOT's innovative shared mobility incubator, the first and only in the country that focuses on the unique needs of rural, tribal, and small urban communities. Under Phase 2 of our program, we are making $500,000 in grant funding available for projects in Greater Minnesota of up to 24 months. In addition, the Legislature designated a $500,000 for a one-time grant offering for projects that bring carshare services to disadvantaged communities in Minnesota. Phase 2 grant applications are due on Tuesday, April 30, and for carshare grant applications on Monday, March 6.
