At the start of every year, I like to pause and ponder where I see things heading – especially in regards to electrification and sustainable transportation. It seems that we tend to focus on personally-owned vehicles, which are a critical component of decarbonization, but let’s also talk about fleets. Fleets generate more than 25% of global emissions. It’s why I’m such a proponent of converting fleets over faster to more sustainable energy. They can be centrally managed and maintained, which eases some of the common EV pain points, including range anxiety and software to optimize routes. While we may only see incremental progress on this front in 2024, as this infographic points out, we’re going to see progress indeed. What progress am I most excited about? Seeing an uptick in hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric trucks and vehicle-to-grid technology that balances the power grid and much, much more. Facilitating this transition is central to ParkMyFleet's vision, which is why I’m part of the team.
