Throwback Thursday: Right about now, those among the wireless ecosystem who did the pilgrimage to Barcelona for Mobile World Congress are experiencing a hangover after over-indulging in cool product launches, bold ideas, media coverage, marathon days of briefings and business development meetings, 20+ thousand daily steps, La Rambla nightlife (and hopefully all those surrounding quarters where one gets completely lost), and, of course, jamon. Now it’s about figuring out what was real, progressing business opportunities since the end of Q1 is upon us, heading to the next show on the calendar, and more. Mere aspirin won’t cure this one!
I shared a trifecta (it is college hoops time, after all!) of hangover-themed posts about the 2019 edition of MWC. No surprise, many of those topics and narratives I wrote about resonate today including 5G, CBRS (more appropriately, private cellular networks), Open RAN, techno-business use case clarity, and in-building wireless connectivity which is a big part of the fulfilling the “connected world” vision (this includes pushing cellular coverage/capacity to more buildings than currently addressed -- the “middleprise”).
