New Podcast Episode Out Now💎✨ What is your delegation process? Do you just dole out tasks or are you planful in how you share the responsibilities of your team? How often have team members delivered a result that was quite different than what you expected, leading to either double work, abandonment of the project or a deliverable that was substandard? These questions and more are born out of a leader's failure to set expectations when delegating. One of the leader's primary responsibilities is to build a great team of people who can carry out the work of the team in accordance with the leader's mission and vision. Tasks along the way to fulfilling the mission and vision must be delegated well in order to achieve the desired results. In this episode of The Leaders' Lounge our Chief Training Officer, holds a mini-master class on the delegation dilemma and helps you avoid, "The Danger of NO Expectations". Building the most effective first time leader training for infrastructure and construction | Helped 25,000+ future leaders get promoted | Leadership Development | AFR BOSS Young Exec | Co-Founder & CEO WeAspire
Being a leader can often come across as glamorous, but real leaders know… That leading means being the one face up to difficult conversations, and have conversations that matter. If you’re a leader you probably have a lot of these. For me as a leader I’ve had to - let people go - performance manage - take responsibility for a project that didn’t go well with clients - deliver bad news - negotiate outcomes that are best for the business that I might not always agree with - give feedback to my business partners when I didn’t want to It’s not easy. But I know hard choices = easy life, easy choices = hard life. So I do my best to have the hard conversations early, even though I don’t always get it right. It makes sense that training people in how to have a difficult conversation is our most requested skill to develop first time leaders in. In this episode of the Promoted podcast Renee Wootton and I chat about our experiences with difficult conversations and we dive into the FACE framework that helps me every time I need to have a difficult conversation: Feelings and framing Ask, don’t accuse Curiosity Expectations Hear the full conversation here - https://lnkd.in/g-7HpuaT Shout out to Michael Furey and the WeAspire team for finessing this framework over the last few years with first time leaders.

Have you checked out Katie Anderson's Chain of Learning podcast yet? If not, I recommend it highly. Episode 11 has dropped! I loved the conversation Katie and I had about the role of improvement-minded leaders in organizations—and full-time improvement pros—and hope you do as well. A few topics we cover: ◾ The importance of clarifying one's purpose as a transformative leader and/or improvement pro ◾ Reflective vs. directive coaching ◾ The importance of learning how to speak "senior-leader language" ◾ The pros of using Kaizen Events (Rapid Improvement) to build facilitator capabilities (and the cons if the organization isn't addressing sustainability and building a culture of daily improvement in parallel) Listen now to get inspired and register to win FREE TKMG Academy, Inc. courses! https://lnkd.in/gAWBxPWZ
