First day back at work from the holiday vacation? Looking for a way to engage your team and help them succeed in the new year? Sharing goals with others is a great way to help keep you on track and get the support you need to reach them. On New Year's Eve, my family has a tradition of sharing two goals for the upcoming year: one serious and one funny. It's one of my favorite holiday traditions. It allows us to reflect both personally and as one. Try this out with your team! Have each person share one personal and one professional goal and make a note of what you can do to support someone's journey. #GoalSetting #2025Goals #NewYearsIntentions

Got the post-summer blues?☀️ 😢 We hear you. ❤️ Returning to work after vacation and saying goodbye to the days of summer can be tough. We're giving you permission to reflect on some of your favorite moments of the season. Take a moment to think about them. Are you smiling? 😊 Remember, it's never too early to think about your next getaway, even if it's just for a weekend! Once you've reflected, it's time to refocus! 💫 Make a list of work tasks you need to accomplish. Them prioritize them. Decide what needs to absolutely get completed today versus what can perhaps wait until tomorrow. 💡 #TuesdayTip

5 things I learned taking a week long vacation last month ✨ Okay, okay, quick back story, the trip wasn’t random or ill planned. 😅 When my husband and I got married, we committed to take a full week vacation every year for our anniversary. As we celebrated 9 years this year, our adventure took us to Vancouver and Sooke, BC… Here's what I learned: ▪️Trust is a verb. Taking vacation as a leader is an opportunity to demonstrate my trust in my team. 🤍 ▪️The team I have the privilege of leading is inherently capable of delivering high value for their clients (they are simply the best!), and as we work in a client focused business, where things to come up unexpectedly - being clear and sharing the ideal reporting flow to resolve bottlenecks (ie. who to go to for what) if they came up while I was out was essential just in case. ▪️I relax on vacation more when Outlook and Teams are not on my phone. 😅 ▪️Place your OOO up. Just do it. 9.8 times out of 10 (math from my lived experience lol) people will respect the boundary and work through your recommended contact while you are out. ▪️Return on a day when you’ll still have 24 hours before you are back to work fully to allow time to catch up on emails without the pressure of back-to-back meetings (game changer) What’s one thing that you’ve learned (about yourself or your team) taking time away from the office recently? I’d love to know in the comments! #outofoffice #reset #workandwellbeing #takecare

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻: 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗔 𝗩𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗣𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗘! 🚀 Taking a month-long vacation with my family every summer has been a transformative experience. With my kids still young, I knew this was the perfect time to create lasting memories together, away from the daily grind. ✨ This journey wasn't easy—it took us a year of planning and rearranging our lives to make it possible. But the effort has been incredibly rewarding. We often get caught up in our routines, putting off our big dreams for 'someday.' But life is too short to wait. Setting specific goals and working toward them is crucial. For us, that meant reorganizing schedules, prioritizing family time, and making financial adjustments to ensure we could take this extended break together. 🌍 These vacations have allowed us to explore new places and enjoy quality time, bringing us closer as a family. We’ve laughed, learned, and grown together in ways that wouldn't have been possible without this dedicated time. 👉 I encourage everyone to set concrete goals around their big dreams. Whether it’s taking a long vacation, starting a new venture, or pursuing a passion project, take those dreams seriously. Make a plan, break it down into manageable steps, and start working towards it today. You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve with dedication and effort. 💡 Our journey to make these vacations happen is a testament to the power of goal-setting and the importance of family. I hope our story inspires you to pursue your own dreams and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones. Life is fleeting—don’t wait to make it extraordinary. #FamilyTime #WorkLifeBalance #GoalSetting #DreamBig #Memories #Lifegoals

Transform your summer vacation into lasting habits. I'm excited about my summer vacation plans, and I hope you've got something marked on your calendar, too. Vacations allow us to recharge and rejuvenate, reducing stress and improving our mental well-being. Even though we know the importance of spending time at a cabin, lake, or even your backyard, many people still struggle with it. They return refreshed, only to feel a week later that the time off was a distant memory and that they're ready for another vacation. What if you experimented during your summer vacation with creating new daily habits and rituals that you could bring back to the workplace to enhance your well-being and productivity all year? In my latest newsletter, I'm sharing some practical tips that, if practiced consistently, can be transformative. It’s important to take your vacation days! It’s good for you! It would be better if you actually felt good about that instead of feeling guilty (my team is going to have to do more work while I’m out) or resentful (no one can stop me from taking the vacation days I’ve earned!) or like a jerk (my team will just have to deal with it) or concerned about your relevance (if my team doesn’t need me while I’m out, maybe the company will let me go). None of these feelings are Joy at Work. This article and (links in it) can help you and your colleagues break the cycle and create strategies for happy vacationing! https://ow.ly/6w4v50TooY8 #joyatwork #worklife #workplaceculture #thechangedecision
