#InTheNews: We recently partnered with Renown Health and the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine on a study that found substantial gaps exist in identifying and testing patients who have family history for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. In fact, up to 80% of women with pathogenic or likely pathogenic (P/LP) variants for breast cancer have not undergone genetic testing, despite their lifetime risk for breast cancer exceeding 50%. So how do we create a proactive approach to family history assessment and genetic screening in order to detect risk early? At Helix, we are committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace. We have created an Employee Resource Group (ERG) focused on Neurodiversity, led by Nick Armstrong and Suzanne Millward, MPH UXC. Last quarter, the Neurodiversity ERG swung into action by partnering with HR to support in-office accommodations requested by neurodiverse employees, such as noise-canceling headphones 🎧 and a quiet area in the office 🛋️. And we won’t be stopping here!
