"What's in it for me?" – one of the common questions in translation buyers' minds. It's our job as translators to make it crystal clear right from the beginning. Clients don't just want to know that their words will be translated. They want to know the impact of hiring a professional translator, ↳& what value we're going to bring to the table. Here's what's going to be in it for the translation buyers: 👇 1) Assurance of flawless communication with the target audience It's not just about translating words – it's about conveying meaning. A professional translator ensures the message is going to be: →clear & concise →culturally relevant →& it resonates with the TA ... ... while making sure the brand voice stays intact across languages. 2) Positively impact the business/company's growth A poorly translated document can turn potential clients away. However, when translations are top-notch, businesses can: →engage their audience →expand into new markets →and strengthen brand loyalty Quality translation directly impacts business success. (!) 3) Years of trust and expertise in one go We bring years of experience to the table, ensuring: quality accuracy & reliability Clients have the opportunity to focus on what they do best while knowing that their communication is in capable hands. As translators, it's our job to make these benefits clear from the beginning. The clearer we showcase our value, the stronger the client's trust in the process – and in us. 📌 P.S.: How do you showcase your value as a translator to your clients? #LItranslators #marketing #digitalmarketing #freelancer

When I first embarked on my freelance linguist journey, I wasn’t sure what my specialization would be — I didn’t want to limit my options. But recently, I realized something important: When I was going through my translator resume, I noticed that my path had already carved out a natural specialization in marketing and PR. Since I started, I’ve been fortunate to work on a variety of exciting projects, including translating over 40,000 words for a complete campaign for a retailer in the automotive industry. These campaigns, which spanned Black Friday, Christmas, and other major events, were showcased across all digital devices. Currently, I’m part of an ongoing online ad project, and a sales training initiative for brand store employees, which involves translating marketing materials for a leading electronics company. These have been some of my most rewarding projects to date. In addition to these, I’ve worked on a wide range of product descriptions across industries and even translated financial documents—a field that ties back to the management side of my education. I have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing/PR Management and several years of experience in sales, promotions, and tourism. So, today I specialize in marketing and PR translations, and also content writing within these fields. With my background in marketing, paired with hands-on experience from both sales and campaigns and my translation projects, I’ve found a niche that truly aligns with my skills and interests. I’m excited to continue growing in this space and supporting businesses with impactful, clear, and engaging communication. #freelance #marketing #PR #translation #localization #linguistics #experience #specialization #niche

Marketing managers — are you tired of having to basically re-do (most or all) the "marketing translations" you get? You are not alone! In fact, marketing is probably one of the few departments in a company where traditional translation approaches -- and AI tools! -- just won't do. And you are left holding the bag. 😫 ❓ So, what can you do? 🤔 Clench your teeth and re-do everything through (unpaid!?) overtime? 🤔 Send it back and hope to get a better version the second time around ...? You're right. None of that is ideal. 😤 😊 BUT there is a solution: 1️⃣ Look for transcreation experts -- i.e. translators with actual marketing and copywriting expertise. 2️⃣ Sit down with those transcreators for an enlightening briefing session, where you discuss the strategy and what you want to achieve in your target market(s). 3️⃣ Be prepared to give feedback on the drafts that you receive, especially early on in your relationship, until your transcreator has truly found your voice. 🤩 After that, you’ll never have to re-do any “marketing translation” ever again. Maybe add some preferential touches here and there, but that's it. 🤩 +++ Of course, for that to happen, you need to work with transcreators or specialized transcreation teams directly, not via some third parties without the right expertise. Want to learn more about what marketing transcreation can do for you and your brand? Check out https://lnkd.in/dFfz-GDV #transcreation #marketingtranslation #internationalmarketing

I can’t believe it will be 5 years I’ve worked in marketing. 5 years! And definitely not according to the plan. I wanted to write, and I wanted to avoid anything even remotely technical, so I studied Czech <> English translation thinking I would become a novel translator. 📚 Then I found out how much it pays (spoiler: not much), and realised I’d have to translate technical documents to make a living. Nope, thank you. I was disappointed and wanted to leave university after my bachelor’s but people convinced me to at least study part-time. So I spent Fridays and Saturdays studying management and marketing for my master’s, while working my first full-time job as a teacher in an English kindergarten. Because I still wanted to write, I soon found a part-time job as a copywriter and started juggling a full-time job, a part-time job, and a master’s degree. ✍️🎓 In hindsight, it wasn’t smart (I burnt out later), but it enabled me to switch to a full-time copywriter position. Now, 5 years later, I still work in marketing, and despite my previous expectations in a technical field. And I love it! 🛰️ (And even after 5 years, my grandparents still don’t understand what I do.) #MarketingCareers #CareerJourney #WomenInMarketing

If you have a job that has anything to do with being in close contact with people you know that you have to adapt to real-life realities and remember that they are, above all, human. As I stated yesterday, during this week I am going to post every day about ways LSPs and Entreprises should approach these challenging times and I hope to hear from YOU, fellow Vendor/Talent Managers, Translators, Transcreators, Subtitlers, and Localization Professionals. Communication makes the world go round! Did you think it was money?! Most language professionals work autonomously and work with many different clients, on different types of projects. Communication must be crystal clear and everybody has to be on the same page every step of the way. So... 1. OverCommunicate at all times! What and how you communicate to your talent pools is crucial. Especially during the onboarding of new talent, clearly explain project expectations, timelines, and compensation structures. This helps manage expectations, provides clarity, and reduces noise. The same applies when you send out a new project or task. All the details you need to manage your projects are crucial to the language professionals working with you too. SHARE! If you have any doubts or concerns about the work that a translator delivered, simply... ask questions. This will make your job much easier and will create a relationship of trust and proximity that can highly benefit, not only the project at hand but especially your future collaboration! #Translator: Hi, I saw your job post for a freelance translation role and wanted to apply. Could you share more details about the project? #Agency/HR: Of course! We’re always looking for talented translators to join our network. Just send over your CV, and we’ll keep you in mind for future opportunities. #Translator: Sounds good. What’s the timeline for this project? #Agency/HR: Well, we don’t have anything right now, but it’s great to connect. We’ll reach out when something comes up. #Translator: So, there’s no current project? The job post made it sound urgent. #Agency/HR: Not at the moment, but we love expanding our network. #Translator: I see. I believe genuine opportunities, not just promises, build stronger networks. It’s important that job posts are transparent, so translators can invest their time wisely. #Agency/HR: You’re right. We should be clearer in our communications. As translators, we value trust and transparency in our collaborations. Sadly, some agencies and HR teams post jobs just to grow their networks, leaving professionals chasing leads that don’t exist. True networking is built on mutual respect, not misleading offers. Let’s create an industry where opportunities are real, and connections are meaningful. #TransparencyMatters #TrustInTranslation #EthicalRecruitment #NetworkWithPurpose #RealOpportunities #TranslationIndustry #ProfessionalGrowth #NoFalsePromises #MutualRespect #JobSearchTruth

I am not expert in sales/marketing! But I can say a few words about your communication! I have been watching how some Translators are communicating! Here are some poor ways of communication: - Commenting '"Interested/Intrested" - "Send me details to my email" - Once a new connection is made, asking "Have any work?" - Sending Inmails asking for translation work! - Sending Inmails to random people offering their product/services! - Sending DM asking for work and then no response! - Publishing their resume and contact information in LI --> highly risky Here are some facts: (a) Noone will give money or work unless there is trust! (b) Job posters may not send details to hundreds of persons who have commented (c) New connections: First build a relationship and then ask for work! (d) Pls do not be always salesy. Build genuine relation with fellow translators! Just a pinch of salt! What would you add? ******************************************************************************** Follow me for content on Trados and Translation!

I’m here on LinkedIn to 👇🏽 LEARN > SHARE > HELP > SELL > RECRUIT Likes and followers are nice, but I actually want to get something real out of it. 1. LEARN 🎓 - Anything about localization. - About the challenges and desires of our ideal customer personas. 2. SHARE 🤝 - My nearly 15 years of experience as a translator turned into LSP founder. - Anything helpful to people who are involved with localization as a seller or buyer. 3. HELP 👨⚕️ - Uninformed traslation buyers find their way in this complex industry. - Freelance translators get better insights about the LSP side of their business. 4. SELL 🎁 - Our localization and copywriting expertise to brands, start-ups and scale-ups. - Our language services to US tech companies who want to enter the Belgian and EU market. 5. RECRUIT 👥 - Freelance translators, editors, copywriters because we want the best talent. - Freelance PMs and localization specialists because we want to surround ourselves with the best knowledge. — In my experience the first 3 non-transactional activities (learn, share, help) often lead organically to the transactional activities (sell, recruit) in a helpful and non-pushy way, where the actual 💰 is made. — So tell me. Why are you *really* on Linkedin? 😀 #linkedin #localization #socialselling #litranslators PS: no specific job vacancies at the moment — spontaneous applications welcome via [hiring @ ell . agency]
