Then we link them to those services while they await trial.   Why do this work? Because the vast majority of people entering carceral settings will return to our communities.   When we can connect people to affordable housing, employment, educational opportunities, healthcare, substance-use treatment and more – they build the foundation they need to support themselves and their families.   That creates structure. Due to the nature of the work it is lovely to see so much information included in the Practitioners Self Care section.
