Only 23% Doctors want their children to be doctors ! The recent poll conducted by me on X (Twitter) highlights a concerning trend among medical professionals. When asked what career paths they would want their children to follow, a significant 74% of respondents chose "Not medicine," while only 23% selected "Definitely Doctor." This stark disparity suggests a growing reluctance among doctors to encourage their children to pursue a career in medicine. Several factors likely contribute to this sentiment, including the prolonged education and training period required to become a doctor, the demanding and often stressful lifestyle associated with the profession, and the increasing instances of violence and aggression faced by healthcare workers. These challenges underscore the need for a deeper examination of the medical profession's current state and the support systems in place for those dedicated to this vital field. #medicine #healthcare #doctors
