As we enter the first full week of December, here’s what I’ve been hearing from my engagement with Healthcare Talent Acquisition teams about the state of their 2023 budgets and recruitment activities. ☃ While budget $’s have started to warm up over the past few months, there’s still no significant thaw to the funding freeze that began to hit healthcare TA budgets in 2022. 🏃♀️TA teams continue to largely be expected to ramp up hiring with “existing internal resources.” ❄Some healthcare orgs are even facing an overall “hiring freeze” in the latter weeks/months of their current budget year. 💪TA teams continue to face pressure to make more permanent nurse hires as their healthcare orgs are still “spending too much on travel nurses.” 🤝 Healthcare HR and TA teams are focussing increasingly on retention efforts, and building applicant pipelines through employee referral initiatives. 📲 Smaller and medium-sized healthcare organizations continue to mention the need to increase their social media activities to boost recruitment. 🧠 Some healthcare orgs are looking more towards using AI to aid in recruitment. Which of these themes can you identify with at your workplace? What else are you seeing as we close out 2023? #nurserecruitment #healthcarerecruitment #rnrecruitment #healthcaremanagement

Hireology, the top-rated applicant tracking system (ATS) built for home care and facilities-based care organizations, announced a new integration partnership with Activated Insights (formerly Home Care Pulse), the leading provider of training, recruitment, retention, experience management and recognition tools to improve and grow long-term and post-acute care organizations. Together, the two solutions empower long-term and post-acute care organizations to quickly attract top-tier Caregivers, RN and CNA talent and ensure long-term retention. This partnership comes at a time when the healthcare talent shortage is more alarming than ever before. Experts predict that about 200,000 new nurses will be needed by 2031. On top of that, 18% of new nurses leave their jobs within the first year — leaving organizations with hiring and training costs that range from $28,400 to $51,700 per nurse. “Given the disparity between talent supply and demand along with high turnover rates, remaining fully staffed becomes a nearly impossible task without effective technology and processes,” said Adam Robinson, CEO of Hireology. “That’s why we’re so thrilled to partner with Activated Insights. Together our two platforms provide a true end-to-end solution for remaining competitive in an increasingly challenging healthcare hiring market.” Read how the two technology providers aim to help home-based care and facilities-based care organizations below.
