$18 Big Macs are the exception, not the rule, but it's still an $18 Big Mac. Every single person in the restaurant industry can learn from what is happening around McDonald's recent press release on menu price increases. It's not about the media leaning into what gets clicks from the press release. It's about ensuring that we communicate clearly and consistently ahead of any menu pricing complaints. Does your team know the quality of the products you use and the pride that goes into serving every guest? Are your staff able to deliver a consistent guest experience every time? Do all of your staff understand why you are priced the way you are in your community? Does your staff know your story so your guests receive the right message? McDonald's, one of the biggest restaurant companies in the world, is facing declining transactions and guest counts due to late or inconsistent messaging around pricing, resulting in the stigma of an $18 Big Mac. #RestaurantIndustry #MenuPricing #CustomerExperience #QualityProducts #ConsistentCommunication #HospitalityExcellence #LeadershipInHospitality #RestaurantManagement

Consistency is always better than Quality. This is why restaurants like McDonalds still exist. They serve agreeably terrible burgers. However, they are CONSTANTLY terrible burgers. So consumers know what they are getting. We as a society value that. Problems come when things are not consistent. My company recently helped a restaurant quadruple its Google Reviews, and for the most part, all 5 stars. Without fail, we got 1-star reviews when the restaurant lacked consistency on the operations side. Uniformity really makes a difference. The same is true throughout all marketing and business, consumers love when things are standardized and they know each experience will be similar to the last. So the takeaway: Be Consistent in your business. Take it a step further and be consistent in your life, and you will be unstoppable.

Here are some things I have reminded myself recently that I openly share with others, especially for those who have felt discouraged or frustrated. - Displacements are not about you - it is not your fault. It is a business decision. - What is meant for you will not pass you by. - Your desires desire you. - Stop looking at what others are ordering from the restaurant menu. They are at a different restaurant. It’s time for YOU to go sit down at the restaurant and order what YOU want off the menu, and enjoy the meal. - Is something not happening on your timeline? Say thank you. Actually, I congratulate you on it. You know why? Because what is coming your way is so big that it needs time to become ready for you to receive it. - Your story is not supposed to look like anyone else’s. - Focus on what is going well. How many of you have a list of what isn’t going well? Throw it out and start focusing on what is going right - and when you do, more of that will come. - When it feels like everything is crumbling, you can take what has crumbled and build a better foundation from it. #inspireothers #personaldevelopment #motivation

I'M INTRIGUED to know this about the restaurant industry... 🍔 I've been around the food industry for nearly 5 years. I've seen businesses big and small come and sadly go (including my own 😢). I'm connecting more than ever with food and restaurant founders but it still staggers me the amount of restaurant chains and independents that exist in the UK. So here's my question for you all... How are you standing out in this market? Drop a comment! 🤳 I'll post a follow up to this with my thoughts so stay tuned... 💭

I watched an interesting video the other day that got me thinking, and I wanted to share it. This video argues that McDonald's is more of a real estate company than a restaurant due to their profits from each segment of the company as a whole. With the rise of CosMc's as an attempt to capture a segment of the fast beverage market I think this video makes a compelling case for why McDonald's could be considered quite the real estate company. What are your thoughts? In retail, what can we learn from these types of things to move forward? #ICG #CosMcs #McDonalds #retail #realestate #fastfood https://lnkd.in/g7fjMwhW

Another question for my LinkedIn network: Would you visit a restaurant with under 4 stars on Google? 92% of consumers polled said they wouldn't. Here's the sad reality: •Many of those > 4-star restaurants are wonderful •They're just too overwhelmed to think about reputation management We've had bad work days. We've all had unfair customers. But for restaurants—this can be lethal. It's not fair, and our team at Akira can help. Let's chat! #restaurantmarketing
