Beth Israel Lahey Health's CEO Dr. Kevin Tabb did a wide-ranging radio interview today on a variety of #healthcare hot topics, including managing burnout in the healthcare workforce that is leading to a workforce shortage. This spoke to me because I know of a number of providers, including nurses and pharmacists, who have left their clinical roles due to the high-stress hospital environment for roles where they felt they could impact more change in healthcare. To address workforce attrition, #hospitals need to deploy strong internal #communications programs to help their workforce manage and reduce where possible stress factors. These programs include effective executive communications that help employees understand how the hospital is working to meet its mission and provide information to employee questions, including some of the hot topics Dr. Tabb discussed in his interview. https://lnkd.in/eSgsV8re

🌟 The Three Key Relationships in Healthcare 🌟 A nice recap by Mary Koloroutus on the three key relationships that are essential to providing compassionate and effective care: 1. The Relationship with Ourselves: Self-connection, self-love, and self-compassion are foundational. When we nurture these within ourselves, we’re better equipped to extend care and compassion to others. 2. The Relationship with Our Team: A supportive team culture is crucial. People need to feel safe, held, and supported within their work environment to handle the stressors of healthcare and provide the best care possible. 3. The Relationship with Patients and Families: While patient care is our ultimate goal, it’s vital to recognize that strong relationships with ourselves and our team set the stage for truly effective and compassionate care. Watch this short video to learn more about how these relationships shape our ability to care for others. 📹 https://lnkd.in/grEC74Xv #Healthcare #SelfCompassion #TeamCulture

Thank you Becker's Healthcare for the invitation to join colleagues from across the nation in describing healthcare’s next big disruptors. Seanna-Kaye Denham-Wilks, PhD. Chief Experience Officer of NYC Health + Hospitals Kings County (Brooklyn, N.Y.): Disruption is inevitable, that’s why it's important to build resilient teams who can monitor trends and respond in alignment with clearly defined principles. As much as we tend to localize what we address in our healthcare setting, global issues show up at our doorstep in New York on a regular basis. As a result, the next five years will provide evidence of how current political issues influence those in our community, as well as those we have yet to meet who will seek safety here. #beckershealthcare #speakerseries #humanizinghealthcare

There's opportunities in the way the symposium has been structured for everyone to learn more of KAI and the potential it offers for increased collaboration and harmonious working; definitely worth considering for anyone that wants even better team-working and getting more done in 2024
Thank you to four of the KAI community’s superb practitioners… • John Bryant FRSA • Guido Prato Previde • Megan Seibel, PhD, RN • James C. Anderson II … who are collectively hosting a round table discussion at the KAI Symposium 2024! All four have worked within or been closely involved with healthcare delivery and strategy. This fantastic foursome will be talking on the subject of “Health and Care: Exploring the Links between Problem-solving Style, Motivation, and Stress”. Not only will this hopefully yield some unique insights for all my colleagues in healthcare, but the lessons are undoubtedly applicable to dozens of other industries, too. If you are interested in the delivery of effective, tailored healthcare, then you don’t want to miss this discussion.
