Today marks the anniversary of Sui’s Mainnet launch! As Sui turns one, we reflect on the past year of stellar growth and unstoppable innovation: On May 3, 2023, Sui Mainnet launched – supported by over 100 validators and 400 nodes – introducing the world to a next-generation blockchain that would rise to the top tier of L1s. Network utilization took off at a rapid pace: in July 2023, less than 3 months after launching, Sui celebrated one million active accounts. Shortly after, Sui executed over 65 million transactions in a day, the most recorded on a blockchain ever. DeFi also showed extraordinary growth early on and continued through the year. In Oct 2023, TVL increased 341% and volume rose 220% over 3 months. Then in Feb 2024, TVL crossed the $500 million mark and showed no signs of slowing down. Last month, Sui hosted Sui Basecamp, its inaugural global conference, which saw over 1000 attendees. Buzz from announcements at the event, like SuiPlay0X1, Mysticeti, FDUSD, Pilotfish, and Enoki, reverberated across the Web3 community. BREAKING: BytePlus, the enterprise technology arm of ByteDance, is coming to Sui! Adeniyi Abiodun and Long Li, BytePlus Regional Manager, announced this new partnership onstage at Sui Connect Dubai today. BytePlus will explore data warehousing, content recommendation, content generation, and augmented reality in Web3 game platforms and socialFi projects in collaboration with Mysten Labs! This also means that Sui will be able to utilize ByteHouse, a cloud-native data warehouse for batched and real-time analysis, in combination with Sui’s full nodes data – elevating performance and ensuring accelerated delivery for users. The high-performing, low maintenance, read-write separation and real-time analysis of ByteHouse will enable Mysten Labs to supercharge analytics with infinite scalability. BytePlus and Mysten Labs will also be exploring ways to strengthen Sui community building, hackathons, and educational programs worldwide. BytePlus products, including recommendation solutions and BytePlus CDN, a network of content distribution networks for accelerated delivery, will be an additional area for collaboration with Sui. The potential use of these products on Sui is set to increase exposure to key customers and partners including large game development companies.
