Accessibility is not an afterthought—it should be baked into the design process from day one. By prioritizing purpose, empathy, and inclusivity, Mythic bakes accessibility into the design process to make our work more inclusive (and way more efficient) for everyone.

Change how you look at things and the things you look at change. 🔄 In the realm of design, this couldn't be more true. As we delve into the heart of Inclusive Design Beyond Accessibility, we're not just pushing boundaries—we're redrawing them! 🎨🌍 👥 Embrace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) not as buzzwords but as pillars of innovation and creativity in service design. Every step towards inclusivity is towards a more compassionate and effective design that serves everyone. 💡✊ What We Stand For: Empathy and Diversity: These are the engines of innovation. By putting people first, our designs do not just function; they resonate. 🤝💖 Recognize Exclusion: It’s about seeing the unseen. We identify and transform exclusion into an opportunity for all. 🚀 Learn from Diversity: Diversity isn't just welcomed; it’s essential. We involve people from all walks of life to enrich our designs. 🌈 Solve for One, Extend to Many: Designs that cater to specific needs often benefit a broader spectrum of users. 🎯 Equivalent Experiences: We ensure that all ways to engage are equally enriching, moving beyond minimum standards to maximum inclusivity. 📊 Why It Matters: 🔗 Inclusive Design is about more than accessibility. It's about designing for every situation, every impairment, and every individual. 🌟 🔍 As we explore human-centred design and innovative service, remember that each step in DEI is a step towards a world that acknowledges and celebrates every human's uniqueness. 🌐 💬 Let's discuss how we can continue to foster an inclusive environment in every field, every day. What are your thoughts? #InclusiveDesign #DEI #ServiceDesign

In a world characterized by diversity, it’s imperative that products and services are accessible and usable by everyone. Inclusive design goes beyond mere compliance with regulations; it’s about creating experiences that truly resonate with people from all walks of life. In this post, we discuss how human-centered design (HCD) is a powerful framework for achieving this goal. cc: Anna Lawton, Kevin Shane https://lnkd.in/e5rYBjVy #design #designresearch #research #qualitativeresearch #HCD #humancentereddesign #inclusion #inclusivity #collaboration #empathy #innovation #impact

I’ll have more thoughts on this soon, but my Product Equity, Equity Design, Inclusive Design and Accessibility practitioners (and others I’ve missed) — take a deep breath. I know the flurry of new policies, stemmed from grievance politics, is disheartening and even a little scary as it hits so close to home in our work. Remember. Our work isn’t about grievances of giving one community or another “unfair advantage”. Our work is rooted in representing the world, meeting the needs of our customers, growing and deepening our TAM, ensuring our digital products are useful, usable and accessible by the broadest swath of humanity possible. Our work is about building brand love and scaling the business while also co-creating with community—with our past, present and future customers—to drive deep insights and broad product innovation. Our work may not go completely unblemished by these policies, but its work that is bigger and broader than grievances. We got this. Take a deep breath. We got this.

Accessibility isn't just about making things easier. It's about fostering innovation by ensuring everyone can participate fully. Creativity thrives in the twists and turns of the design process and with accessibility as our compass, driven by organisation and empathy, we can chart a course towards inclusive solutions. I've explored this topic in our latest blog post — check it out! https://lnkd.in/ezdeBxmM

One big trend? Designing with diverse users in mind. But here's where it gets real: there are still gaps to fill. Many companies talk the talk but fall short on walkin' the walk. From ignoring diverse needs to designing with a one-size-fits-all approach, there's room for improvement. So, what's the fresh perspective? It's about flipping the script. Let's shift from "good enough" to "great for all." That means listening to diverse voices, pushing for inclusive design practices, and using our creativity to build bridges, not walls. So, how can we fix this? It starts with a mindset shift towards inclusivity. Businesses need to prioritize accessibility in their design processes by: ▪️Educating Teams: Foster awareness about accessibility and its potential contributions to creativity and problem-solving. ▪️Adopting Inclusive Practices: Implement flexible work environments and sensory-friendly design elements to accommodate diverse needs. ▪️Listening to Diverse Voices: Actively seek input from individuals with diverse backgrounds and skill sets in design and decision-making processes. ▪️Training for Sensitivity: Provide training on communication styles and creating inclusive environments to promote understanding and collaboration. It’s about time everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. 💡 #InclusiveDesign #AccessibleSpaces #DesignDiversity #EmpatheticDesign #UniversalDesign #AccessibleInnovation #InclusiveWorkplaces #DesignEquality #InclusiveTech #Accessibility
