METLEN Energy and Metals is planning to implement new renewable energy projects in Sicily and has signed a cooperation agreement with Ance Sicily to explore the possibility of working with Italian companies that have high levels of expertise in such projects.
METLEN recently announced the launch of a significant four-year investment project in Italy, comprising approximately 180 projects. This plan, which will span the entire Italian peninsula as well as islands, has a total installed capacity of 3.6 GW. It will be generated by photovoltaic and wind farms, energy storage systems and green hydrogen.
Aris Spiropoulos, Regional Managing Director Italy & Eastern Europe of METLEN, stated that "by signing this cooperation agreement, METLEN reaffirms its position as a leading player in the development and support of the regions where it operates. Its objective is to strengthen local economies, with a particular focus on the economic, environmental and social sustainability of these regions".
