Armed robbery is taking someone else's property through force while armed. While it may seem simple and straightforward, there are often defenses to armed robbery. An alibi is the most common, as eyewitness testimony is highly unreliable. The accuser only needs to believe that the weapon or firearm poses a threat, so a misunderstanding involving a lawful gun owner can quickly become armed robbery accusations. A defense can also be crafted around such circumstances. At The Jones Firm, PLLC, we've beaten armed robbery charges through dismissals and verdicts of not guilty. Our strategy is simple: we leave no stone unturned in building defenses for our clients. It takes time, effort, and expertise that The Jones Firm, PLLC guarantees. If you or a loved one are facing criminal charges, contact The Jones Firm, PLLC, immediately for a consultation.

Former Copper now going on my own - let me help create that healthy work/sport culture that supports your goals
Danny’s analysis on this case for me is accurate. It’s why I don’t make comment on such incidents when asked to by friends jr indeed the media. I wasn’t there. I can’t possibly consider what is impossible to consider. What I do suspect is that this case has a backdrop of public mistrust in the police. The public join the dots of all events and see bad cops. The recent Nicola Bully missing person case is but one where I can’t help but feel the public jumped to conclusions about police mishandling. I event think some in the media wanted this to be the case. It would give yet another angle to ongoing stories For me this highlights the need for policing culture to be the focus for police leaders. I don’t mean a new shiny online programme that no one believes in. I mean Meaningful conversational trainings that take place from the top down and from the down up. This case highlights the threat to all officers and staff from this lack of trust. “The more we crush officers spirit of good officers the less they can fight crime”. These were the words of Met Commissioner Mark Rowley. Powerful words yes and supported by many however what Mark fails to realise is that he and other police leaders are not doing enough to regain trust in their communities. Also a lot of the crushing spirit is coming from within and not just from likes of IOPC. Policing requires to build an internal community. Relationships are the currency of change.
Chris Kaba was shot dead by a police officer in south London in September 2022. The killing needed to be robustly and independently investigated and the officer needed to account for his actions. But should he have stood trial? After watching some of the proceedings at the Old Bailey I have grave doubts. My piece for the Spectator:

A fascinating piece by an experienced expert who watched the case. I, for one, would never have the courage to do what these firearms officers do every day. And to know that every split second may be poured over in super slow motion in the comfort of an office or a courtroom, threatens and make that job nigh on impossible. Prosecutors have incredibly hard decisions to make too, but this article brings the question of what is meant by a realistic prospect of conviction into stark focus.

Many of us in the world of Protective Services' have been increasingly aware of the issue of increased street robberies in London in recent times, in particular targeting high value watches! For those of us that are tasked with protecting individuals that might fall trap to such criminality, we need to remain on our guard, and where possible mitigate the risk as best as possible, especially by having those discussions with your clients/principals. Of course the best mitigation is to not wear those watches in these localities, if that's not an option, then are they exposing themselves to an increased threat of crime by their social media presence? As we all know, no matter what, some individuals will not heed your best advice, so it's a case of doing our job, and being extra vigilant to potential threats! 🤔 It's good to see the Metpol getting down to some good old fashioned policing, but with finite resources, even intelligence led policing is not always going to prevent such crime! Stay safe! 🙏🏾 https://lnkd.in/ezj6WSyS
Over the course of 7 months there has been a sharp rise in high-value watch robberies in central London worth £4 million. Undercover officers set out patrolling major hotspots in Kensington and Chelsea, the West End and Mayfair to help people impacted by these robberies. All offenders in this video have pleaded guilty, and have been convicted. We will be collaborating with industry partners to improve the recovery process for stolen watches and identify criminals responsible. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/e96RTFUN

Its an every changing world that keeps us on our toes and challenged. Many think the time to worry about theft is when you go on vacation. Thieves tend to look for everyday patterns like; going out for dinner every Friday night or taking a long walk everyday at the same time each day or week. Mix up your patterns, be vigilant in your environment, make sure your safe is Underwriters Laboratories rated and bolted down, ideally TL rated, and connect your safe to your security system.
Increasingly sophisticated and determined burglary gangs are literally planting cameras in Southern California yards to track residents' movements, police say. Don't be caught off-guard with unsecured jewelry, watches, firearms, cash, and documents. Casoro Jewelry Safes and Maximum Security Safes will recommend the right safe to protect and insure those items. Firearm theft is more an issue of criminal necessity of the thief than improper storage by the victim, often only resulting in petty theft charges. Frequently, firearms are stolen from secure storage in homes and vehicles with the weapons getting sold/traded into hands of those that can’t purchase one legally… They are often used in violent crimes and illegally modified to be concealable, automatic, and/or without a serial number, etc… We need to get a handle on firearm theft the same way we did with automobile theft last session… https://lnkd.in/gp8Shask
